This was solid! Episodes 1 & 3 really had the action and martial arts on point.

I really enjoyed the ancient historical setting and tying in the Battle of Adwa in Ethiopia - the only African country that was never colonized by Europeans - to the future of Wakanda was a nice touch.

There's a lot of great spinoff series that can be made from Wakandan lore. A series on some of the previous Black Panthers like Bashenga (the first BP) would be dope. I see the Black Panther lineage as similar to Avatar the Last Air Bender in that some of the previous mantle holders could make for really great stories.

As for the politics of Wakanda, I don't see the point in arguing over that. They are an isolationist nation and some writers in the comic books have shown them as (at times) being willing to secretly support anti-colonial resistance movements in Africa. But mostly they were :hubie: .

I can generally enjoy my fantasy entertainment without politicizing it. :manny:

Still got to check this out but i got a question about Wakanda. Did they ever explain in detail how they used Vibranium to become so rich and advance? They keep to themselves so they not selling it to other countries so did they make vibranium weapons and rob others? Did the vibranium mound unlock some kind of mental blocks that made them all super smart and creative?

I knows its comics but them being so advanced and going unnoticed sounds like they are time displaced or something

Interesting! Here's what Google AI said

"Wakanda's wealth in Marvel comic history primarily stems from its vast deposits of the rare metal vibranium. While they don't sell it openly, they leverage it to develop advanced technology, which becomes a valuable export and resource for the nation. This, combined with Wakanda's self-sufficient and autarkic economic model, allows them to accumulate wealth and become a global power.

"Controlled Trade:
While Wakanda doesn't engage in large-scale, open trade of vibranium, they do selectively trade or exchange vibranium-based technologies and products with trusted partners."

So they did sell to "trusted partners" but kept a tight lid on it. I guess that's why in the show they were so adamant about recovering any Vibranium that wasn't sold or given to a state approved partner.

As for your other questions, it kinda depends on the writer. Ta-Nehisi Coates turned Wakandans into colonizers who "stole" the land from another group of inhabitants, but most fans reject his story.
