The Fulton Mall thing is sad. It was literally ahead of its time. A walkable downtown district with major retail, restaurant, art, etc.. and it went belly up. Fashion Fair is what killed it off. Hopefully cars being able to drive through the street again can revitalize it. Then link the area to the Tower District
From what my dad told was from the start of the Fulton mall u were able to drive through but it got so thick of people theydecided to close the driving and making it a walk only, now there opening it to drive again. But ya it's sad to see what it once was, they had stores like Macys down there... The other day I walked through it to the social security office, there's a certain feelingu feel when u walk down thete

A simple hotel tax was going to pay for everything.. Don't confuse San Diego with some worn down rust belt city with crumbling infrastructure had horrid schools

No it wasn't..it was a similar deal with the padres...San Diego ended up paying hundred of millions be a use the hotel tax revenue was not enough

I know you're talking about taxpayers paying for stadiums but if you never been there.. zip it!!:stopitslime:

The fact that they have the beaches etc means they have even less reason to fork up a billion to Spanos. There's more draw to SD than just an NFL team. The MLB is dancing in their offices because the NFL is abandoning major regions (SD/lower Cali) and the entire east bay when the Raiders leave. It's dumb business for the NFL to not force Spanos to stay and pay. They knew it too which is why they promised him $300 mil towards a stadium......the MLS is probably licking their chops now too

They should've built that stadium especially cause Qualcomm Stadium is old as fukk anyway. They probably won't ever get a NFL team again

I respect the fans and city for telling them to build their own fukking stadium or GTFO. NFL owners need that wake up call. More important shyt to spend taxpayer funds on

negged for being mad at taxpayers not wanting to pay for a billionaires playplace :childplease:

Pay for a new stadium for billionaires brehs....
Taxpayers wouldn't have had to pay anything. San Diego lost their football team for no reason

what's the old saying

" RICH PEOPLE STAY RICH BY USING OTHER PEOPLE MONEY " this what spanos wanted to do, and san diego said fukk it.....

in all honestly do san diego really need a 1.2 billion dollar stadium??? every game it's 60/40 in favor of the other team fan base and 90/10 when the raiders come to town
