Yeah theres some influences of Chicago in the uk drill scene but the slang is different, theres a different vibe to it and its a bit more lyrical imo. Harlem spartans are dope but most of them locked up now, check out some of the guys i mentioned in the original post, some dope shyt out there. nikkaz with open minds never get bored with music coz we'll check out anything so respect for that.I fukk with the U.K. scene. I don't think the US will ever embrace U.K. Rap. I think they tried really hard with Dizzy Rascal back in the day. I had that cd, but I was a super hip hop head growing up and would check anything out. shyt was tight too.
But I like this new scene where them nikkas got a clear Chicago influence. Don't know what the hell they saying half the time, but a nikka be usIng context clues to figure shyt out.
One thing I like about listening to U.K. Rap is that I don't know theses nikkas, don't know what's hot, who cool, who lame and all that other shyt. So I listen to this shyt without any bias and whatever is hot is hot.
I like Section Boyz. They dope. The dude who does the hook on trapping ain't dead is my guy. That everything Lock Arff shyt go too. Then it's this song called Grills by Nines. Man I love that shyt. It remind me of some early 2000's jiggy shyt. He got a throwback flow but in a good way.
I heard of Harlem Spartans and checkecked they shyt out and it was ok. I feel like I don't even be listening to the best shyt cause I don't know anything about the scene. I like 67 too. I think I fukk with section boyz the most
the only one of these drill rappers that impressed me was grizzy m darrg and them. London rappers should be sounding like j hus and abz. Melodic African and carribean influences. not this corny wannabe American bullshyt
