Kiss land is his best work though. He will never get the credit he deserves for the brilliance of that album.

I think he's surpassed it.....Also, I agree, that 'Kissland' is his best work.....so far, it's such a bizarre reaction to me, when I see people decry it.

:salute:I play Kissland much more frequently than any of his other work. You'd be surprised...a lot of the "fans" who caught on with Earned It & Feel My Face don't even know about the album.

IMO, this mite trully be the GOAT Weeknd song

Haha, nah I wouldn't be surprised....That album was for the day 1 fans, thats what it felt like to me, I like it better then all the Trilogy, as a comprehensive piece of work. Since I was a kid, I was always up on artists first, those that are truly passionate, active fans of music, usually are (like many on this forum)....it's the passive, casual fans that catch on when the songs go to Billboard top 10. I was fukking with Weeknd since Fall 2011, so I was a few months late, but I tried to put everyone on back then, told them he would be mainstream soon....When I told a few people I saw him perform at the Forum in LA, sold out back to back nights, everyone was like 'Thats dope...he just came out of nowhere', I'm always real clear that I was listening way back in 2011.

Professional
Love In the Sky
Belong To The World
Kissland
Pretty
Adaptation
Tears In the Rain

are easily some of his best work, and my personal favorites.

I'm a person who buys music and it agitates me to no end that he doesn't have " enemy" on itunes.

i mean you're probably right. but that is classic shyt.

his stuff now isn't that bad. especially for pop.

plus the shyt he was dropping in summer 2014 had that sound. often and king of the fall were on par with the trilogy tracks. he's capable of it still, but why do it when you have the skills to be the biggest pop star on earth?

I may be alone here, but these tracks were no where near the quality of the trilogy to me. Yea they were a bit more vulgar than his pop stuff, but that doesn't make it on par with the Trilogy.

I'm a fan of his voice and production more than anything so from that aspect he's only getting better.

'Enemy' is one of my favorite Weeknd tracks.....I always go back to that one, dark and foreboding production, sexual but not playful lyrics, really a perfect Weeknd song.....'Til Dawn' is another in my top 10, that has very much the same feel, seems like the same studio sessions....

Probably not, it's hard for indie acts to go commercial and then go back.
He might find himself though, this shyt is still new for him cause the Kiss Land album was like a 3/5 album, the latest a 3.5/5 and next might be 4 or even 4.5 if we're lucky.

When you "try to tell records", it's pretty hard to make the best shyt that you can.
