when it comes to IT im a layman, I can just about do a powerpoint presentation...

what gets me about the IT industry is it is one of the few industries where as long as you have the skills its quite easy to set up by yourself and become your own boss....

as racist as silicone valley is for that dude to get that position hes probably 20 times smarter than the white man that interviewed him...

so it irks me that he hasnt started his own shyt....

If I knew anything about IT id be trying to design an app every fukking day.....smh

While I see what you are saying. Design manager does not equal programmer. If anything he's more closely related to marketing etc. he may have zero technical skills.

Naw. You are right on the second part. You basically need a computer/internet to start off. But I guess like all business it's going to take years plus people love to steal ideas in this field.. But I'm sure you are aware of this already . Lol

I was thinking about pursuing a business like that a few years ago.Did you get any minority grants, lending, contracts? Did you get any tax breaks/incentives for being a minority owner?

nope..... If I tried to do it in the UK, it would still be a dream my dude..... The business is set up in Nigeria and The republic of Benin....

As much as I would love to say it was planned and I worked towards it, I fell into it....it was totally by mistake... A South African Bank was trying to do business over in Nigeria but Local content law dictates that If you have a contract with the state or federal government preference is given to companies that are at least 60% Nigerian owned, so they were looking to partner up... a friend of a friend called me and my brother in the UK where we are based half the year and after about the better part of a year and a lot of money we came to an agreement...

The big drawback is that the business is grimey, and what I mean by that is the politics ..... just to make sure the trucks can ply the routes with no hassle, we are paid on time, we are weighed correctly at the Transfer loading station means a lot of "back door payments"

at the moment there is a petrol shortage in Nigeria, even though the trucks run on diesel its having a knock on effect...

we are at the point where we have turned down a few contracts because we are spreading ourselves a bit thin...

Theres a lot of politics involved.

I mean other than becoming the ruler of a third world country it seems that the quickest way to become a billionaire (or multi millionaire) is to be involved in the tech industry ...... If I could go back in time I would have studied IT
