They will have to make this free to play in my opinion.

Once again, they've spent a lot of money on development and the studio itself, going "free to play" is a very expensive decision to make.

People will buy the product if they find it attractive (Helldivers 2).

in all my gaming years I never seen gamers wish death on a game they never played or rightfully seen.

All because it does not have single player elements…

I understand it but I don’t see it having any success if they try to charge $40.

There’s tons of free options in this category, one of the best games released this year is free. Helldivers 2 worked because it had an existing base and they did great job at promoting the game. I just don’t see gamers being excited to pay $40 for something like this. Sony will either have to reduce it by half or try to make it up with in game micro transactions.

A game like marathon has a much better chance at selling due to Bungie having a good base.

Helldivers 1 had a good base???

It’s all time peak was 6,744 and that was 7 years ago on PC
HELLDIVERS™ had an all-time peak of 6,744 concurrent players on 28 October 2017.

I said “existing base” and even if it’s not grand, it matters. Having a dedicated base gives you a head start.

Casuals don’t care about the specifics of what a shooter game is, they just care about it being a fun shooter and they have plenty of free options there. They aren’t going to pay $40 just because it’s a co-op shooter.

The toughest part is getting them in the door and that will be hard to do with no base, no known characters like marvel and a steep price.

Sony has already cancelled so many games from the fall of concord, it’s hard to see them go with the same pricing strategy. How many people are realistically looking forward to this game and willing to pay $40?

Even with HD2, there were plenty of ppl putting it down before it came out, however it caught the streamers attentions, the viral clips, etc all gave it a great push. That type of luck doesn’t happen often.

All we have is some CGI trailer and already delayed.

What dedicated base?

You still haven’t clarified, I’m sorry if you are trying to say that there was a dedicated base waiting for HD2, you not being honest with yourself breh.

All I’m saying is wait until more of the game is shown and explained before dooming it to a grave, yall literally have no information, none aside from what we think is a cgi trailer.

And how you know the game is delayed, because someone on internet said so?

Welp, another one in the dumpster

PlayStation leadership didn't give Haven staff a reason for her departure, but it came several weeks after an external test of Haven's first game, the online shooter Fairgames, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Some developers at Haven were concerned about how the game was received and its progress, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they aren't authorized to speak publicly.

Marie-Eve Danis and Pierre-François Sapinski are now co-heading the studio

After how Concord one, this one is not surprising. Sony is lucky that they still have been able to make profit despite these closures. If they want to invest in multiplayer games, they need one that has a catch. The irony is Factions would have done well.
