I mean Im a southern cat but Cats like Alpo embodied the “NY fly boy” look and that was the “look” cats like Nas,AZ, Mase, etc had.
Clean yet gaudy fits and dark ceaser cuts with waves lol
Like it was that look or the bald head rowdy roughneck look that were the fashion spectrum during the time. Sprinkle in the Afro Centric stuff and anything that wasnt in them buckets were seen as country/bamma ish lol.

I know because my last year in NYC was 1996 before I moved down south so I kept a Caeser cut with the waves but I DIDNT ROCK GAUDY CHAINS cause my area around 166th and Washington would make u a victim

The most I did was rock a conservative looking Cuban link TUCKED UNDER my champion sweater on the way to class

. side note andrew chambers should be famous dude from detroit (not the Chambers Brothers) who was actually a paid informant made a living setting folks up on so many people he was one of the top informants. that should deter kids from getting in this crazy drug game.
