Not only that, he didn't have the base of operations (an actual school) nor the connections to pull it off and not get caught. There's no way that schools should be falling for this basic level scam as a simple Google search would have told them the truth.

Hell, even the local newspaper and sports media was in on it as well seeing as that's technically their job is to do research when talking about the matchups.

Part of that is sad to read, the other part is funny.

Sad bc it sounds like Roy Johnson is taking advantage of those kids dreams etc, no trainers etc....but funny bc he's telling them they're gonna practice at Ohio State facilities. A nikka just got outta jail and stepping on the field to play. Dudes playing with 2-3 kids of their own.

RJ sounds like slickster who if he wasn't using football, he'd be using something else to take advantage of ppl, steal etc.

Actually, it's different bc IMG takes legit kids from all across the country. Funny thing is, the last 2 IMG kids that came to OU. Bookie Radley-Hiles and TJ Pledger, have both been good, but not up to the 5star level they were billed as.

So in that sense, it could be IMG indirectly inflates kids ratings by putting them on Allstar teams basically. Which in turn is going to attract more kids bc they want those stars by thejr name and big D1 schools recruiting them.

Edit : also, remember several years ago, Deion Sander had Prime Prep Academy. That always had negativity around it whether it was was fair or not. Probably why Roy Johnson and ppl around him thought he could pull it off.
