I will say this though. They're at least smart enough to know when to cut bait though. Most teams have so much who they would do the same thing hoping for different results.

With KD I think Covid helped him to extend the recovery period. He didn't play for 17-18 months. Usually athletes are back doing full practice and playing within 8-9 months post injury.

He’s also been a unique kind of disaster. Getting into arguments with sideline reporters at halftime, completely clueless about his own QB playing status 2 hours before he’s announced he’s being demoted, literally doing nothing on the sidelines to change what was then a 4 game losing streak…he’s on the clock too

Smart enough to cut bait? They gotta pay him like 100 million whether or not he's on the roster. If they paying him like that he can sit his ass on the bench. All that's gonna happen now is some other team is gonna toss him a vet minimum contract and Atlanta is basically paying him for them. He probably gonna go somewhere and pull a Russ on Atl's dime.

I think Kirk's starting days are over and cap hits are temporary. The Falcons are a ways from competing anyway so better to just take the hit early, maybe trade some pieces for picks and keep rebuilding it's not like that division is full of world beaters.
