All due respect.I can understand not calling your cousins but the elderly is an exception.Dont have to talk long.With older people it's the thought that counts their days are ticking down (not being funny it's truth).Just call say hello happy b day thinking about you yadda yadda then hang up.Be thankful you have a grandfather to talk to.
