Lakers reported tweeted she was the only voter to not vote AD and of course it opened the cage for the wolves to attack her and then it turned into a “Women are unfairly treated in sports culture” discussion

He deleted the original tweet where he mentioned Maria Taylor as the lone person to not vote AD but this has been the fallout:

So this is where it’s tricky for me because it does suck that stuff like this opens the door for trolls on social media to be misogynistic and racist.

But as well, I fully believe reporters should be held accountable for their votes on things like these.

I think you can denounce the trolls coming at Maria but also feel she should be held accountable for a glaring omission. Both things can be true.

Because if this was Skip Bayless or John Doe or whoever, the vitriol would be just as bad. I don’t think just because she’s a woman that she shouldn’t be held accountable. Some try-hards IMO always hide behind the feminist wave to complain why women should never be held accountable when they screw up.

But yeah, the other side of that is it opens the door for idiots like Doug Gottlieb to spew his crap.

Yeah that’s basically how I feel. But all most people know how to do is jump out the window and/or clout chase. I won’t expect much level headed discourse to come out of this.

oh nooos another case of online bullying

:beli:

she should tell people to kiss her flat back and care about something worth a fukk in the world instead of a meaningless vote for a meaningless honor
This type of stuff always makes news though. No matter the race or sex. Plus votes like this impact contracts so it’s not totally meaningless. Obviously AD still got his clearly deserved recognition so her leaving him out didn’t do anything, but fans and fellow media will ALWAYS look for the outlier vote.

Literally happened just recently when one lone reporter didn’t vote Ken Griffey for the HOF and fans and media went on a witch hunt to find out who that reporter was.
