I love Like Water For Chocolate but that was the end of the shyt-talking, hoe slapping, scumbag Common that was in all honesty deteriorating by that point.

Electric Circus...let's move on.

Be WAS a comeback and it is a good album...but it's so damn overrated because I think it was a lot of people's first Common album and it was released during the peak that whole Kanye West/Okayplayer/Chappelle Show wave. EC aside, it was still so...soft compared to his previous albums. It was always his 4th best to me and after Black America Again, it's about to be 5th.

One Day was the album where Common started making those bad, serious records like that terrible abortion song with Cee Lo. Also Badu reared her head for the first time on the throwaway type Roots song. And that stretch of songs about his grandma getting robbed was always a little strange to me.

There are some great No ID beats on it but it's a 3.5 album that arrived when the game was ready for A CLASSIC.
Abortion song with Cee-Lo? :heh: You mixed up two songs. Put the henny down, bruh.

The brother made ODIWAMS.
He is a legend. He is a pretty good actor but i selfishly wish he devoted more time to rap projects...

shyt-talking, hoe slapping, scumbag Common > crochet hat-wearing incense-burning Badu-simping rap Lionel Richie Common. This > The Light or Come Close or any of that bullshyt.

Nah, not at all. Resurrection is one of the greatest rap albums of all time to me. His next album wasn't as good but was still dope. I mean come on...

:wow:

Like Water For Chocolate is an amazing, beautiful album.

Electric Circus was a miss but tbh I need to revisit it.

Be is a classic.

Finding Forever is cool

After that he fell off although Nobody Smiling isn't bad.

That's not a bad catalog for a rapper :yeshrug:

2 classics and 2 more dope ass albums...

Like Water For Chocolate is also a classic breh. No album with a song like Sixth Sense on it cannot be anything other than classic

Its even better than Be. LWFC and Supreme Cliente were the best albums of 2000

Common really is the Chi Town Nas like he said years back. Their careers have the same peak and valleys album wise.

dreamer/believer was pretty cool to me I can't lie.. that joint gold on there goes hard. Nothing like Be or anything but I'm juss sayin.. joint had a few vibey bangers

Rapper Common: Racism Can End If Blacks Extend Hand “in love” to Whites

“Hey, we all know there’s been some bad history in our country. We know that racism exists. I’m extending a hand like, ‘Hey, we want to get past this. We’ve been bullied, we’ve been beat down, but we don’t want it anymore,'” said the rapper.

“We’re not extending a fist,” he continued. “We’re not saying, “you did us wrong!’ It’s more like, “Hey, I’m extending my hand in love. Let’s forget about the past as much as we can, and let’s move from where we are now. How can we help each other? Can you try to help us, because we’re going to help ourselves.”
