Issues - Lauren Witzke for U.S. Senate

That is a legit alt-right platform (shifting the GOP way to the left on economics and basically ending immigration, along with heavy nationalism and tacit support for rebuilding white America's birth rate)

Thankfully Delaware should be a (hopefully) safe Dem state, but still. Winning a Senate primary is a big deal.

The insanity of her platform doesn't end there - part of her run is claiming that she was previously a heroin addict and ran drugs for the Mexican cartels - who she claims are all here in the US through (dog-whistle) "chain-migration."

Ah so that's why she has a soft spot for heroin addicts.

I think a lot of these alt right types are former (or current) opiod addicts

I wanted to make a thread about how the alt-right never really went anywhere after 2017, they just rebranded and pushed themselves further into the mainstream of US politics.

It's now called the "America First" movement which is the same shyt but minus the public Nazi references. The goal is to bridge the gap between the mainstream right and fascist right.

They have supporters in Congress like Paul Gosar and Matt Gaetz, and two of their candidates (Laura Loomer and Lauren Witzke) won their primaries. Though, I think this chick is even worse than Laura Loomer.

Lauren Boeber, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Mike Cargile, Angela Stanton-King, Alison Hayden and a lot of others in various Congressional races.

Yeah, the Q Anon believers. This one stood out to me in particular though, because her platform comes closest to actual alt right politics (like she let Nick Fuentes write her platform).

As someone who is from Delaware, she has no chance of winning that Senate seat.

But I find it interesting she won her primary. Her opponent was very bland, so I see why Delaware Republicans (especially younger) would choose her.

She didn't even win by a large amount and she is very unlikely to beat Chris c00ns, but her win is inspiring to white nationalist types.

Her platform sounds like Viktor Orban, who is a star to white nationalists. Flat out proposing payments for women who have at least 3 kids (in addition to a complete moratorium on immigration).

She's also been connected to QANON. :snoop:

And what is it with conservative woman always needing to die their hair blond?:why:

I've never really understood that myself :heh:

My best guess is that it's some kind of Aryan culture shoutout. Back in Nazi Germany blonde hair/blue eyes was considered some kind of ideal. :yeshrug:

This is the post Trump Republican Party. They will go further far right even if Trump loses. The Koch Brothers and the rest of the conservative donor class rode the far right Tiger since Newt Gingrich era in the 90s and now the tiger is going to consume them and the party.

The far right hates the Koch brothers though. They want to turn the GOP into a fiscally left wing but very socially conservative/anti-immigration party, which is the opposite of the Koch brothers

Yeah I read this thread and agree with your premise. Granted, I really don't think the average normie GOP voter is that invested into this "populism" stuff, but the alt right has had some success in pumping their platform into the mainstream (with this woman being one of the most obvious examples)

Who/what is the average normie GOP voter?

One thing you (or really anyone interested in this issue) need to consider/realize is that what ties many of these people together are not policy preferences as much as the desire to obtain and maintain power. The policy preferences are negotiable. This is where their strength lies. A farmer from the midwest that is a diehard right winger will vote for the GOP candidate even if they propose policies that actually hurt farming income (like the trade tariffs etc), bc once they obtain the POWER, there are ways to get around the negative policy outcomes (the farmers bailout for instance) that don't require votes from Democrats.

The reason the GOP will move to populism is bc it's the only political "movement" that has room to grow due to its attraction to many on the left, and many who are politically inactive.

I mean that based off the Trump supporters I know in real life, most of them don't align with this "populist" movement that much. Like, this one guy I talk to who constantly praises Trump's Wall Street success, which is an issue populist twitter doesn't care about at all. They're also not extremely anti immigration like them, even if they are considerably to the right of the Dems on that topic.

I agree that it has room to grow for the reason you mentioned. But if Trump loses, that will kill their momentum and they'll need to back off some of the culture war issues if they want to achieve success. But for the most racist of these people, those are the issues most important.
