The GOP just doesn't want Black people to vote period.
They'll tolerate token Black folks helping support their candidates but they sure as hell don't want us to vote majority GOP and put that pressure on them to cater to us.

The GOP, Republicans, MAGA, etc did themselves in by becoming too far aligned and synonymous with people who sympathize or have literal ties with skinheads, racists, klansmen, fascists, etc to have any appeal to most Black and Latino/Hispanic people.
The reason they booed him was because they already knew what he was suggesting was a lost cause at this point...from here on out it's a whiteout (White people only) type of time for the Republican party.
As others pointed out, the GOP wants it to be one or the other, Black people and other ethnic minorities to vote for them (which is already a hard sell) or just not vote at all.

It's true though. The GOP doesn't give a damn about Black people voting for them. They've ruled Mississippi and Alabama, two heavily Black states, with an iron fist off the strength of gerrymandering and apathy among Black voters.

The GOP prefers Black non-voters to Black GOP voters big time because they're still able to dominate politics off of the strength of their base and voter suppression tactics. And having Black voters as part of their base means that they'll be pressured to answer to us more which is a nightmare scenario for them.

What incentive do they have to help us? Their only priority is to keep whiteness as the privileged caste. And keeping blackness as the bottom caste is required for this. And to achieve this, keeping black people stuck between a rock and a hard place politically is in their best interest.
