Every time one of these regular ass QBs comes up for a contract people sing this song. Who was he better than before he was gifted the job over a first round pick that led the team to a playoff berth the last time he was healthy for a full season? I remember when people wondered what Cincy would do when Palmer "retired". They went on to have a better run the next 5 seasons than they ever had with him. Remember just this season when Tony Romo went down the Cowboys replaced him with a rookie drafted in the 4th round? The Texans made the playoffs 2 years in a row playing 19 different QBs. Not saying they are guaranteed to be better without him or to get a Dak in the 4th round. But I get tired of people throwing this plea out there for every QB that we know damn well is not worth the money. If he was really worth it, there would be nothing to think about and you wouldn't have to compare him to nothing in order to demonstrate his value.

Picking Dak was basically winning the lottery, arguably having the best rookie season in NFL history. The Cowboys didnt have Romo last year and were terrible. The Texans are a terrible team and have zero chance becuase their QB is garbage.

Redskins were 25th in defensive DVOA. I think this great supporting cast is a tad overstated considering the defense stunk and Reed was basically injured all year. Garcon is washed. They had an UDFA playing RB. Cousin's certainly isnt Brees but he's capable with a better defense...he also rarely takes sacks, which is a big positive.

In this system present day colt really hasn't looked much worse than kirk from what I saw in preseason. Only thing kirk has on him is getting the ball out of his hands quick but he throws a lot of his ints that way

The Texans have a better record than the Slurs and more playoff appearances since Cousins took over so what is that saying about the Slurs and their QB? What chance do the Slurs have right now? Dak has done his thing, but a lot of his success is due to the position the org put him in. No disrespect to him, but he ain't he only QB that would flourish in that circumstance. Most QBs do well when you give them a dominant running game. Cousins himself was a 4th round pick, so this idea that you just can't find anyone to take his place (for a fraction of a percent of the price) is just silly.
