Maybe the AI is there to make sure these workers get the food out faster :yeshrug: People be trying to take orders and prepare the food at the same time. This takes a thing from the worker to do so they can focus on other shyt.

you not seeing the bigger picture breh, it's not going to stop at just this...inch by inch jobs will be taken over by AI, it may seem cool and edgy now, in 10 years the people that really need these jobs gonna be on life support..its already damn near impossible to get a job paying over $40k a year, imagine how bad its gonna get for fast food. More joblessness, more crime, etc...

this isn't good and this is coming from someone making over 100k a year.

I know what AI is doing and it’s definitely a concern. I’m just saying with this example it’s just taking one thing away from the employees to do. I don’t know of too many restaurants where they have one person to only take the orders.. they’re trying to take orders AND prepare food. That’s why them joints be slow lol. I mean there’s these AI order machines already popping up in small towns around my area and there are people still in the kitchen preparing food.

Again this is how it starts. Oh its just the drive thru. Then you notice you have to use a Kiosk to make your order instead of a cashier. 15 years ago there weren't as many self checkouts. Now there are barely any more cashiers. I can't believe we as a society actually let these greedy corporations fire cashiers and make you "The Customer" Scan your own groceries and bag them as well. So now you are not only the shopper but the cashier as well. Then they got to nerve to ask you for donation at checkout, lol. It was one of the biggest hustles I've ever seen in my life. Clearly those jobs were taken.

If someone isn't taking the order anymore, than that's a job taken away. If you are scanning your own groceries than someone else isn't doing it anymore. And no, these corporations are not going to increase pay. The pay will say the same, they will now save by not having to pay the cashier. What's diabolical about this AI is that they are slowly implementing it but it all has the same goal. If they don't need people to take orders. Soon they won't need people to make the food. I went to Taco Bell and it was AI at the drive thru. It started to malfunction and a real person had to came on and take my order, lol.

... yeah. I'm sorry but this situation was growing worse all the time. You had workers boxing up customers with a two piece and biscuit combo because they're entitled as shyt. The pay is not getting any better while their rents are rising, leading to crash outs and suicides. The stress and free food is contributing to heart disease and mental illness. We all saw old girl that was making mcdonalds mixtapes on the side airing out her manager.

These jobs are not fit for humans anymore. I really hope these people find better jobs instead of becoming unemployed and destitute.. but having them working in the gulag for 30 years for retirement gift that consists of a bag of candy and some White Castle branded flip flops was not the way.

These humans are worth more than this. They need to feel the fire a little bit and consider more gainful employment. It's going to suck, its gonna be hard being pushed out of your comfort zone like that. But I don't know nobody that ever looked back and said, "getting fired from Pizza Hut was the worst thing that happened to me."

Yea I used one at a Bojangles in VA the other week
It can read back your order to you, make adjustments after the fact, doesn't get confused if you keep changing your order, etc
The human cashier who took the money said they can still hear the order and if something goes wrong can intervene but for the most part they just fall back and put together the order after the AI handles everything

I also went inside a McDonalds in VA that didn't have any humans in the front. All the workers were in the back, you had to order at the kiosk and a short hispanic bought our food out to our table then disappeared. McDonalds had a this in Belgium when I ate there like 2-3 yrs ago and I thought it was just some Europe shyt but it's coming to a store near you

Most people don't have the option either way anymore. Either there are limited cashiers or no cashiers at all. That was the point. Have you the customer do the job so now they don't have to pay the cashier. They feel paying one person to look over 10 self checkout stations is cheaper than paying 10 cashiers. Many entry level jobs have already been eliminated because of this. Fast Food is next. Again they have now made the Customer the cashier. Just because some people have accepted it doesn't mean everyone has. It used to be a few checkout stations, now there more than cashier stations,

I've always said there should be a discount if you have to do self checkout. Nope, groceries are actually more expensive now. So you aren't a saving time because now there are long lines in self checkout. You damn sure aren't saving money. So in the end you just a glorified cashier while the company hires less people and runs off with the profits. Also Self Checkout used to be 10 items or less. It was an express situation. Now people with full carts be in self checkout because there are limited cashers.

good.
A lot of people have been too complacent with hte service jobs, thinking they can't be replaced.
Or working at the jobs and thinking they are above the customers.
You add general terrible workers, terrible worker attitudes, and a want for "fair" wage.
Just like the dumb ass elevator operators, the future is in automation.
Automate food production, automate order taking, run a mcdonalds 24/7 with a total staff of 4 full time workers, or 8 part time workers and no longer have to pay healthcare costs.
