LOL

I didn't read what you said about money being stolen from the economy. My response was to the post I quoted, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

If you completely missed everything I said you have no hope.

Nobody cares about you. Wake the f_ck up. Once you realize that you won't ask for a fuking raise or live with the FALSE BELIEF that some fairy is going to swoop in and bail you out. If you didn't get it in 2008 when the banks were bailed out and the american public was given the middle finger, you are lost.

But like I said, this benefits people like the rich & con artists to have a bunch of needy dumb a$$es running around.

So keep believing that 32 trillion dollars will solve your problems only if Obama or someone did something. Done wasting my time on idiots who don't get it.

LOL Money doesn't come out of thin air. Only so many IT, nursing, and law enforcement positions in society. Plus jobs are scarce as it is. How you expect to raise the standard of living when so few legit opportunities exist? Can't create wealth out of nothing.

No wealth does not come out of thin air, but it doesn't come from the government either.

Wealth starts with good ideas that create good jobs. Capitalism is a very messed up system, but it is the only system with historical success.

Businesses are the engine of the economy. Without businesses there would be no jobs. Without it there would be nobody to tax. Without it there would be a very small government. Governments are only able to provide jobs because they taxed the money from businesses and the employees of businesses.

Governments by themselves cannot create jobs. Governments do borrow, but they wouldn't be able to borrow if they didn't have tax revenue to prove their ability to repay. So our functioning economy depends on businesses to provide jobs, so those jobs can be taxed and so that the gov't can provide necessary jobs and help the needy.

So real wealth starts with someone having an idea of a product or service they can provide that they think there would be demand for. This ultimately benefits many people in the economy. It benefits the user of this new and amazing product, the employees, the government, shareholders in the company, and the broader economy.

I am sorry that this is the slow way to recovery, not the trillion dollar bail out way. Immigrants coming here know this. I just watched a corner store that has been owned by middle easterners for as long as I remember get bought buy some Dominicans. I am so tired of seeing that.

The biggest wealth destroyer is the government, no lie. Its a very complicated system, but wealth has always been created in the above fashion. Even immigrants coming from the most communistic countries recognize this. It took China, what, 30 years of capitalism to increase the standard of living for their people, pollute their rivers, and rob us blind. lmao

My introduction to these things came from a few professors, but later a book called Naked Economics. It is a very good book and politically unbiased, imho. All the confusing pieces fall in place. It's a little above $10 on Amazon right now. You should buy it. Much later I read Milton Friedman's Free to Choose and I left my old liberal idealist self behind.

Like I said I do believe capitalism has its inherent flaws, but no system is perfect. Capitalism is very slow to fix itself, unless it is cheaper to do so. New technologies to stop/slow pollution from factories need to still be created. Technology that replaces cancer causing agents in products is needed. Technology that will create new materials to use in products instead rare and diminishing resources is needed. Nonetheless, it has come long way. The best thing about capitalism is that it creates better, cheaper, easier ways to do things, most of the time without being told.

This is questionable. Also, I'm not sure how any of that represents self control.

NEW YORK -- Workers at McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's restaurants across New York walked out Monday in a one-day strike to demand better pay and the right to unionize, calling for minimum wage to more than double from $7.25 to $15 an hour and the end to what activists called "abusive labor practices."
"It's noisy, it's really hot, fast, they rush you. Sometimes you don't even get breaks. All for $7.25? It's crazy," said Nathalia Sepulveda, who works at a McDonald's opposite Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, where one protest took place.
Outside the McDonald's as well as a Wendy's in lower Manhattan, workers chanted "we can't survive on $7.25" and "supersize our wages." At the Wendy's, the crowd shouted at customers not to go in and two police officers were stationed inside.
They were among hundreds of people who took part at locations throughout New York, activists said. Similar strikes were planned across the country this week, organized by the national Fast Food Forward campaign, which was launched last year to tackle stagnating wages and the proliferation of low-wage jobs as the nation recovers from the recession, said campaign director Jonathan Westin.
"The workers' actions will lift up all of New York City," he said. "If they have more money in their pockets, they'll spend it right here, helping to boost the entire economy."
Doubling the minimum wage would have a "significant effect on the private sector's ability to create jobs, especially those typically filled by first-time workers and teens," said Scott DeFife of the National Restaurant Association. McDonald's had directed requests for comment to the trade group.
Spokesmen for Burger King and Wendy's both said they respect the rights of their workers.
"We're proud that Wendy's provides a place where thousands of people with different backgrounds and education levels can enter the workforce," said Wendy's spokesman Bob Bertini.
Glenda Soto, 35, a single mother supporting four children said that though she works full-time and often puts in 13-hour days at the Bronx McDonald's, money is a constant headache.
"My rent is going up in September," she said. "We are already living paycheck to paycheck."
Many workers brought their families with them, including children.
"We're a movement, we're a team," Sepulveda said as she held the hand of her 3-year-old son, Hayden.
The striking workers in Manhattan were joined by politicians and community leaders, including U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a Democrat who represents the district. He said the fact that the fast food industry is worth $200 billion a year and yet many of its employees still rely on food stamps and Medicaid is "disgusting."
Ashley Pinkney, who works at McDonald's in Times Square, arrived at the downtown rally still in her uniform.
"I can't even order something off the menu with what I earn," she said. "It makes me wonder what I'm even doing there."

btw, on the news this morning, they said if mcdonald's paid them $15 hr, the big mac would increase in price by around 68 cents and the dollar menu items would go up around 17 cents. so that means a 17% increase on the dollar menu. sounds small, but that's a nice increase IMO.

of course if this went down, I wouldn't mind working a 2nd job at a fast food joint then @ $15 hr :manny:

$15.... for what?

You got a shyt job... work 2. Know your place in society. You picked this shyt between age 5-20 while in school K-college

on top of this, at EVERY job I have worked at. if I didn't like what they were paying me, and they ain't wanna give me a raise, I would always look for a better one and wouldn't stop til I got one. but maybe that makes too much sense.

and hell, if ur gonna work fast food, why not work at white castle??? They offer full benefits and pay at least $10 hr.

if I was a non-skilled worker like them, I'd aspire to other jobs that pay better for non-skilled workers. garbage man, janitor, costco employee. all of these gigs pay much better than fast food, and you don't need certs to get on.

To be fair, most of those positions are filled. Yes, they should look for better ways of making money, however everyone should get a livable wage(money to transport, food, healthcare), that is standard living.

There are some entry level positions out of college that don't pay $15/hr, you mean to tell me flipping burgers going to pay that much? I don't see that happening.
