The thirst for knowledge
The rich get richer because they understand how money works...and they focus on it.
Its like getting mad at people in the gym because they get in better shape each year...while this country gets fatter.

Im not disputing that lower wage people dont work hard...they just arent working smart.

College is a dream sold to everyone...hopefully more people wake up and realize its really not needed unless you want to go into one of the sciences.
Not everyone can be the boss...but everyone can have a hustle.
I just hired a guy for a job that does what I need him to do on the side.
He said he has 4 other jobs he's working on when he's off work...and if he's smart w/ money he can flip that into something else.

There are a good number of manual labor jobs that pay 6 figures after a few years of experience...these positions are open, its just that folks arent getting the training.
Like I said...a lot of people are working stupid.

Lol...... Man let me break this down for you....

The rich get richer because of the resources allotted to them. Why invest in your workers when they are happy with the scraps. The gym analogy is also flawed in the respect that due to the way this country is what is more profitable, working out or making more money. People are more apt to aim for more money. Not really rocket science brother.

The guy you point out is also hustling backwards and I guarantee you he is looking at your customers for his own gain. It's all good that he wants more but without others with a high level of resources his plan falls flat.

Small money doesn't make big money.. Even the top knows that.

Look we can agree to disagree, but the fact is all workers deserve a living wage..

When I get my business up and running, I know I will provide a living wage for my employees as, I do right by them they will in turn make me more money.

Without giving up too much info, where I work if you want to make $15, you are at supervisor level or above. Only in the highest volume and traffic store is that a VERY slight exception, and there arent that many of those.

in the lower volume stores, making $12 and over is supervisor pay.

The other problem is that a lot of people want more money based on seniority, you'd be surprised how much work is expected once you top i'd say that $12/hr threshold as a full time employee. That's not the way it works anymore. You have to be willing to take on more responsibility AND build and harness a marketable skill that companies want to pay for.

I'm in school for accounting. My backup career is retail management.

obviously we know that fast food workers aren't unionized and that most of them can't really afford to stay out of work for any extended period of time but believe it or not they still have the power to organize a strike...a consumer strike.

what if these workers were to start a massive, MASSIVE social media campaign urging people across the country to stop eating at these targeted restaurants after a specific date? get whoever was behind the ice bucket challenge bullshyt and spearhead something for "low wage awareness".

get the fukkin word out that a revolt like this could result in positive change for everyone, not just fast food workers. pick a date like a month from now and just start promoting the shyt out of it. get the word out that starting on that date NO ONE should eat at any of those targeted restaurants. it could be huge.

it's gotta be a concentrated effort. i'm talkin facebook, instagram, youtube... all that shyt. educate the people. make some videos informing everyone how important this is and how everyone watching has the power to make change. i could already see it makin all the news stations and seein all the dumb ass talkin heads on TV debating over it.

drill the fukkin date in everyone's head. start a movement.

is it gonna convince everyone? no. but i could see millions upon millions of people taking part. and honestly that might be enough. even if all these restaurants saw like a 30% decrease across the board for a solid 2 weeks it would probably get them sweating a bit.

what do you say coli brethen. you down?

october 1st.

say no to fast food.
say now to low wages.

:lawd:

Most people hate fast food workers due to years of shytty service, and as u could tell by this thread theres alot of jealousy that people would have if fastfood workers wit ged's and excons and people they thought were losers managed to negotiate a raise to get 15$ a hr:russ:....do i think they deserve it?they work harder than me and make less....some of u nikkas wit certs sit around doing nothing for hours saying they dont deserve it as they get constant traffic working two drive thrus at the same damn time all day for 8 hrs:mindblown:....i wanna see it happen just so people lose they mind:laff:...not that i think these knuckleheads aint extra expendable outchea but alot of us are and have people who could fill our position technically:manny:...unless u exceptional at your job which most people aint then you are probaly expendable as the mcdonalds worker....if its a busy mcdonalds give em 15...if its one off in the cut thats slow keep em where they are,i think thats fair...i guess the question is should u get paid for knowledge u have or how hard u work.

I have a question why don't companies do a collective bargaining agreement where the corporate people and he workers split the profit more fairly?

It is deemed as low skill work. And just look at customer service. The rare occasion that you find exception cust. serv. in fast food...the person gets plucked out to move to a higher level of retail, they finish school and go into a career, or they move up to run the store as a GM or something more within the company, outside of the store.

Bruh, some of the posts in this thread are pitiful. I hope y'all have grown and don't think like this still. Fools make 50k and suddenly turn up their nose to people wanting living wages. You are not better than anyone because of your salary. dikkheads talking about stop being lazy or stop buying the latest IPhone and you'll be ok. Meanwhile these corporations that have been making record profits for years can't afford to sit for 2 weeks without crying for help.
