Fat Joe was mainly an afterthought. Entirely forgettable member of D.I.T.C. and he was never better than Big L, O.C., Show, and AG, Lord Finesse, or Diamond D. They all made (regionally) classic work except him. There's always been this revisionist history of Fat Joe and Big Pun (although a better rapper Joe) being bigger than they were in that era and ppl leading the revisionist tales have always usually been NY Latinos desperate to have an artist of their own up at the top.

Still till this day, records like "its so hard", "still not a player", and "100%" are still being played on hot 97 and power 105. 20 years after his death and his records are still apart of the sounds of new york. People now are mixing up the Latino variable with the history Puerto Ricans in the BX. This Latino variable is from recent years and to my knowledge not something that was in the '70s, '80s and '90s. I see it mostly being perpetuated by people who aren't from the New York.
