You got a link? Been having friends guilt trip me over that aspartame shyt.

:jbhmm: any studies backing that up?
I don’t have the scientific studies on it or anything but a quick google search shows that diet soda is safe.

Like with anything, the dosage makes the poison. I don’t recall the details but you’d need to consume A LOT of diet soda to reach a point where things become an issue. A person having 2-3 Coke Zeros a day might not be ideal, but if it satisfies a craving and you’re not adding unnecessary calories, you’re going to be fine.

The 3 slices of pizza for 1200 calories that people eat on Friday because they don’t feel like cooking are doing way more harm to them than a few diet sodas.

One of my local PBS stations has been re-airing the Ken Burns “Muhammad Ali” documentary, so I’ve been on an Ali binge lately.

And one thing that’s always bothered me about Ali, is how “fleshy” he was post ‘67.

So I started doing some research, and found old threads on boxing forums that discussed this, and I came to found out that Ali drank A LOT of soda.

Then, a few days later, this popped up on YouTube algorithm

He must’ve drank 5 cans of coke in 17 minutes!!!:russ::picard:

So yeah, if Muhammad Ali could drink that much soda in 17 minutes, I can definitely believe Joe’s fat ass.

Another thing.

Diet soda is largely safe. The concerns about aspartame and artificial sweeteners has been debunked.

That said, if you’re having 40 cans of diet soda a day, you might actually be reaching levels where there ARE health effects.
They always say that your body cant break artificial sugar. So I didn't know it was debunked.
