It was. It definitely stemmed from having a mom who was extremely vain -- and wanted me to look and behave a certain way. She's still like that to this day. But, I learned to ignore it.

My daddy was overweight when they met -- not sloppy -- but had a belly --- and my mom wasn't -- and so I think she wanted to make sure we (her kids) weren't overweight.

I remember working out when I was like 5-6 years old -- and she always had me in some type of sport - or activity.

I had all of these... These were my toys... :(

Being short and gaining weight sucks. If I gain 10lbs -- it totally changes my looks. I have learned how to stay and maintain my weight. Which is a blessing.

What your mom did for you was good and bad. It gave you a base to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But she also pushed body consciousness on you(as opposed to health consciousness) which drove you to rebel.

This seems somewhat common when it comes to parents who push athletics on their kids. The kids burn out.

Some of you are missing the point. Just saying go to the gym is not the issue. Using her and playing with her emotions for laughs is cruel. Whoever this dude is going out of his way to fukk with her for his and his friends amusement. Setting up a date, she got all dressed, make done, hair done probably a new outfit. Like leave her alone. She was minding her business and this dude and his friends decided to make her feel bad for no reason.

And some guys are into bigger girls. People have different preferences. I've seen plenty of in shape guys with bigger women. So if a guy is asking her out I would assume he likes her shape and looks. I feel bad when I see pics of fat people posted online. I had a friend who is big and she was in the hospital visiting a sick relative and some teens in the waiting room were taking pics of her and laughing! Like is she at the hospital stressing out about her family and 2 teens decided to make fun and take pics.

And that just go to the gym response. Like people dont make fun of fat people at the gym. There was a model who took a naked pic of a fat elderly woman changing. She meant to send to her friends but instead sent it to everyone.

I've always felt that there's a certain level of double standards when it comes to dating for big men & women, when a man is big (and I'm talking BIG not husky with a lil stomach that sticks out) the world doesn't guilt women (especially attractive women) to date him. He just has to hope and deal with the best he can do when it comes to dating.

However when a woman is big (bigger than the average plus size) society tries to guilt men into dating these women and if we don't we'll be accused of body shaming etc. I know you can't force people to not have preferences when it comes to dating but I just notice how lopsided these situations be these days.

I guess...lol.

I feel like it made me extremely aware that the way I looked mattered more than anything else.

I am still dealing with being vain to this day -- I am hard on myself.

But, luckily I don't place my vanity on others -- meaning I don't judge people off their looks like that -- and I am very empathetic to those who are overweight or have low-self-esteem --- but I also know it's a high probability that it's a mental health issue that is causing them to stay that way.

:mjlol: I saw this trending thread title & thought this thread was about this story:

Los Angeles Rams RB CJ Anderson Is Being Blasted By Plus Sized IG Model After He Stopped Talking To Her Because He Told Her He Didnt Like Big Girls & Refused To Flyout To Meet Him.

ARTICLE: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...

#JayeDeBlack #CJAnderson #NFL

EDIT:

Here's the actual Daily Mail TV segment:

Los Angeles Rams running back CJ Anderson, 27, began a sexting relationship with Paige Gunnink 26, of Bozeman, Montana after contacting her through Instagram in September. Messages obtained by DailyMailTV reveal how the athlete offered to fly out the pharmacy technician to North Carolina for sex and requested nude photos from her while his girlfriend, Raquel Torres (top inset) was pregnant. But in an exclusive interview with DailyMailTV, Gunnink revealed their sexting fling came to an end after the athlete was unimpressed by her nude photos, fat-shamed her and suggested she lose weight. In one exchange, she thanked Anderson for saying she was 'beautiful' Gunnink and confessed that some men think she's fat. Anderson cruelly replied: 'Are you fat. I don't really do fat girls lol.'
