As someone who have dealt with an eating disorder (EDNOS/restrictive eating) almost all my life -- the times I have been overweight in the past - were the worst times of my life.

She can't be happy being that size -- "fat' acceptance" is a joke -- it's giving up on yourself.

She needs to seek therapy -- and well as go see an allergist to see if she has a food allergy/sensitivity that's making it hard for her to lose weight.

Let's be reality. I see these type of women all the time. Hell I got a neice like that. I like to call the Bougie BBW. She's usually pretty attractive generally speaking in the face. She has overweight but still has a fairly desirable body shape.

But

She's in her 20s maybe early 30s at the most. She basically grew up in the body acceptance era. On top of that she grew up sheltered/in the suburbs so basically she's one of these new blacks. I can tell that she was probably pursued by Black men (of all shapes) and fat white dudes. She curved them because she saw herself as a dimepiece and felt she was entitled to the Ryan Goslings and Channing Tatums of the world. One probably hit her up and ultimately asked her out and the rest was history.

First I'll say treating people wrong or disrespectfully is not cool so I sympathize on that level.

But at the same time the fat acceptance movement is anti-science and contributing to the death of people, especially black and brown women. This is a health issue first and foremost. Being obese is probably more dangerous than smoking, and needs to be treated as such. Not saying we need to run up on fat people and "shame" them but more needs to be done to help them. And you know what's not helping them? Telling them that nothing is wrong.
