I figure it like this.

50% of marriages fail
35% are unhappy but stay together for the financial stability, social pressure or haven't found the right one to run off with.
10% are waiting for the kids to move out to seperate.
5% are not necessarily happy, but are content with their marriage.

they should poll all these 'single' people out here and see how 'happy' they really are...

Unfortunately A LOT of people don't see it like that,

To some, sorting that stuff out is seen as a curse, a lack of trust, or a bad omen,

Marriage is a business contract moreso than ever...both ppl need to understand that.

On top of that, 1 out of 2 couples get divorced. This same 50% went into the marriage all bright-eyed &bushy-tailed planning to be together forever in love.

IMO, you have much more information/advice at your disposal these days going into a marriage than ppl did in our parents days.
