NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The man behind the “It Takes Lives To Save Lives” charity appeared in Federal court on Monday where a judge ruled he will be detained without bond.

Jordy Robertson, the father of Saints super fan Jarrius Robertson, is accused of committing wire fraud, conspiracy to sell drugs, and witness intimidation.

A representative from the probation office recommended Jordy Robertson be detained because he has a criminal history and has been arrested in the past on similar charges.

The defendant’s pastor and fiance' testified on his behalf, saying he is a parishioner who helps other people.

Robertson’s alleged non-profit was supposed to raise awareness about pediatric organ transplants, and included a Go Fund Me for his son Jarrius “JJ” Robertson’s medical expenses for liver disease.

Court documents indicate Medicaid paid those expenses and that the Go Fund Me raised more than $45,000, which went directly to Jordy Robertson.

JJ Robertson’s mother told FOX 8 last October that JJ had nothing to do with the nonprofit.

His dad was raided by the DEA in October
