I started going to the gym before work. I’m an early riser so it wasn’t that difficult. I also work out 3 times a week instead of my usual 4. It’s my new normal but it works and I’m satisfied.

I’m about to be a father in November and the gym is something that is important to me. Now that I have a daughter coming up and no longer living for myself I’m motivated by being here as long as I can for her and one thing is by keeping fit and diet. How are you fathers able to go to the gym and parent at the same time?

my kids live out of state and one is grown and out of college and the other is in the 10th grade. that said, when they were shorties, I was still able to go to the gym/exercise and parent. it wasn't that hard. for me, I would often ride my bike to and from work, so that's 10 miles of biking, and I'd run 3-4 miles on the track during lunch. mind you, I was in my low 30's back then.

once I switched jobs, I would switch up from going to the gym to eventually running outside daily for years. I cannot run anymore because of injuries, so these days, I'm doing cardio at the gym mixed with bike riding mostly.

u just gotta make the time for yourself. there were times I'd be up before the sun outside running and what not before everyone woke up. this enables you to still go to work and be there for the fam in the evening.

I'm not a father but,

What's stopping you from switching over to Calisthenics? You probably won't be as big, but you will for sure be fit.

early stages be there for her .. invest in a home gym if u got a house

.. goto the fitness center of ya apartments.....spend a couple hours there...

. cant do that jus take a couple of hours and do some running

go to the park...hit the swings n do..pull ups

when she get a certain age ...u can take her with u...

OP life is all about balance.

Adjust your workouts if you have 2. There is no reason for anybody who isn't a professional shouldn't be able to get a good workout in under an hour.

Its also critical to your sanity to have a reason to be alone for an hour a day.

I worked out in the gym and at home with my kids forever; they're 2 old now they don't work out with me like that anymore. They'll come to me for routines or new excersizes tho.

Being into fitness is inspiring.

I built a small home gym in the basement during COVID. I got bags 2 so during then taught them how to throw hands.

You have to make that a part of your life.

My seeds are in their 20's now saying that you have to make time for yourself with young kids. The same goes for your girlfriend, wifey etc. if you're all living together take turns with the kids for a couple of hours you go to the gym while she watches the kid and vice versa.

you telling no lies. That space is critical from the spouse.

and that 1 on 1 time with the kids is 2.

I miss being on the couch watching dumb cartoons with them eating food mom won't let them eat; those were special times :to:

Being a member of the Y in a major city has afforded us the opportunity to participate in a multitude of activities and events including fitness training of all types with top notch facilities and a sense of community. It can get a little busy on the weekends and evenings but if you’re creative enough with the equipment that’s offered you can get a solid workout in with minimal travel around the facility.

It is difficult. Only thing that is somewhat successful is to workout in the morning before work. Otherwise when I return from work that time is taken for baby duty or cooking.

I have assault bike, elliptical, stationary bike, and 100lb adjustable dumbbells at home so it helps
