And it's the person responding like they scared and don't even clearly get their point across

So it doesn't even shut down the stupidity of the aggressor

If Fauci would have spoken with some authority and in laymen terms

He would have ethered dude
But he didnt

Literally all he had to say is
You don't have immunity to the variant strains so stfu u fukking idiot but in a more professional way

Stupid ass title got me hype like it was a shut down moment

shyt ain't even thread worthy

Talking about "dropped his nuts" :mjlol:

Fauci made the same mistake that people in general are making with these so called conservatives. Republicans have made the decision that they're cashing their chips in on the stupid. Rand Paul isn't asking questions in good faith. Not looking to get the facts, or educate the American people. He's just looking to score points with the deplorables (she was right) in this country. Fauci in that session spoke with words that will go over the average MAGA voter's head.

Truth be told, it's a shame that guy that whooped Rand Paul's ass didn't finish the job and put him in the dirt forever. Country would have been better off.

Ironically, this is the real theatre. Paul out here projecting.

However, this discourse got me curious. Can one of y’all help me out here? Believe me, I ask this in good faith.:whoa:

So I understand that there are variants to covid just like the flu has variants. Also similar to the flu, this one vaccine will not immunize you 100% to the covid variants. But with the flu, we do not attempt to make a vaccine for each and every variant, but only the dominant one for the season. And that comes with no masks. However, I also understand that covid is novel and several times more deadly than the flu, which means we can’t treat it like we treat influenza because people will die at higher numbers than influenza if we do so. But my disconnect is here, what is the super plan for 2022 or even 2023 if new variants will continue to spring up ad-infinitum ?

Is the planet doomed to hold these restrictions on masks, gatherings, etc forever? This is the part that has me lost. I don’t really see the end game unless they can reverse engineer an active vaccine or a new immune response that dynamically simulates, responds to, or adapts to variants.

Please forgive me for thinking out loud. I find it helps with problem solving . The only other alternative I can see is maybe playing the waiting game. Perhaps enter a scenario where everyone is immunized to the biggest strain, then the second biggest, then third biggest, etc until the rate of immunity is higher than the rate of COVID evolution for new strains. this seems kinda speculative to me, cause I doubt you could get new vaccines developed and distributed in time to combat the exponential growth and mutation rate of natural strains. But it’s still better than the republican solution of letting people die out in a restriction free world.

Any thoughts? Am I right on any of this?:lupe:

I think the articles in the following links will answer your questions. If I'm reading it right, developing the current vaccines is the starting point that was so necessary to get in he game, and tweaking it to account for new variants isn't a difficult or time consuming thing to do. You may not notice if or when you get flu vaccines, but every year there's a new version of the flu vaccine to help boost your immune system annually and to account for newer viruses. The same is going to happen with Covid. We just haven't reached the new normal just yet. Once we get over this hump, I'm thinking Covid vaccines will be just like Flu vaccines.
