Ninja Storm was doomed from the jump when Tori made the comments about power rangers being "comic book characters" and how they made a joke of the first morph sequence. It's crazy how much nostalgia I see people having for the Disney era nowadays. My two favorite seasons are Disney seasons, and it's definitely a masterpiece compared to the Neo-Saban era, but every single Disney season was massively polarizing when it aired:
Ninja Storm was too goofy and departure from the more serious Space to Wild Force era
Dino Thunder got hate from the people that actually liked Ninja Storm because it was meant to 'fix' some of the issues that early Ninja Storm had
SPD was massively polarizing at the time: some people called it the best season since the late-Saban era; some people called it the worst season ever at that point
Mystic Force had a lot of good will in the first half, but a lot of people hated the second half
Operation Overdrive was universally considered the WOAT season
Jungle Fury was seen as "inoffensive" at best but nothing special
RPM was too grim dark and "didn't feel like Power Rangers"
The only Disney season people haven't warmed up to much is Operation Overdrive. It's still considered the weakest of the Disney era, but a lot more people say Once a Ranger is one of the best team ups (which nobody was saying at the time), and Will gets a lot more credit for carrying the season, when he was universally hated at the time.
Wonder if this is more kids growing up with the Disney seasons or people feeling like, "We didn't know how good we had it," since it was followed by the Neo-Saban era.
I didn't mind the goofiness of the show Lothor as a villain as he washed the rangers during every encounter until that deus ex machina moment in the series finale. He was even holding his own against Mesogog in the team-up until he got one upped. It was and has become my favorite of the Disney era season.
Dino Thunder was alright, but I don't care for Tommy nor had an attachment to him like other people have.
The first half of SPD was dope, but fell off in the 2nd half due to budget issues being saved for the Omni battle. Not casting anyone for the adult Sam will always be a main criticism.
Mystic Force suffered due to sentai footage and gained a reputation as being Red Ranger centric.
The Operation Overdrive team quitting when they lost their powers in Once a Ranger will always make them the most shytty ranger team and hurt their overall reputation. The Samuel Benta and banner situation doesn't help matters either.
Jungle Fury was mehhh.
RPM was a head of its time so I can see why people look more fondly of that one as time went on due to the risk that it took and how it's one of the few seasons that actually acknowledged people dying on a grander scale. I’m surprised that some of them haven’t been pulled.
They all benefit though from the Neo-Saban era being viewed as trash, which is always interesting considering it's the most problematic era from a real life actor perspective.
