America's first civil war was about who counts as a human being. Attempts at peacefully resolving whether black people should be considered human, and therefore citizens in america with rights, failed. It's been said that "war is politics by other means" and so since a peaceful resolution was not possible, a violent one became inevitable.
America's second civil war will be about who counts as a citizen. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the supreme court essentially ruled that racial profiling isn't illegal anymore and the conservative movement in this country is based purely on exclusion. The reason europeans didn't bring their ethnic beefs over to america is because they were essentially told "that shyt stays in the old country. Over here, you are white and being white entitles you to certain social and legal benefits on top of the benefits that come with becoming a citizen"
The "nation of immigrants" spiel is absolute nonsense because those waves of immigrants were specifically meant to displace the newly freed black people and make sure that what little political power the former slaves had was going to be smothered through the sheer mass of white families coming to america. What they really mean is america is a nation of WHITE immigrants. The entire maga movement from the beginning has a vision for what an "american" is.
To them, an american is someone with white skin who practices christianity or judaism ONLY. Anyone else doesn't count. They will recruit FBA boosters to the cause, and then as usual turn around and say "thanks for your help, you're next" because white conservatives see only failure, dysfunction, and poverty when they look at black people. They see us as a blight on their idea of what america is supposed to be(a country by and for white people) and our only use to them was as labor and entertainment. They see the end of the civil war as a great humiliation that radical "socialists"(Slavery, Abolition, and “Socialism” in the U.S. Congress) forced upon them and they want to turn back the clock.
At best, they want you to be nannies, farm labor, manual labor, and sanitation staff. At worst, they want you completely gone because your constant attempts at reminding them of your humanity and right to exist peacefully and with the dignity and respect you are owed as a human being in this country is an annoyance that they've put up with for far longer than they feel they ever had to. In their minds, america was "great" when it was mostly white and the few non-whites around had to show deference to even the lowest white man. To achieve that goal of making america "great" again, they'll use and then discard people who don't fit into that vision of what america is supposed to be.
The cruelty towards those who aren't FBA also bonds people who have made that a huge part of their personality and have spent countless hours engaging in what they think is activism but amounts to little more than online trolling, harassment, and memes designed to delight in the suffering of people who are "fake" black people who are having "anchor babies" and taking away opportunities from those who really deserve them(FBAs). It's not that these africans and carribeans are getting jobs because they tend to be bilingual and come from rich families when they move to america, it's because they're instant c00ns who kiss up to white people who then "reward" them with something they don't deserve. The sense of "someone who doesn't deserve to win, cheating and trying to pull one over on us" is one of the central animating principles of conservative ideology and the silver bullet for getting white people to vote against their interests every single time. It's a playbook that is working with remarkable efficiency when it comes to terminally online black people. People who obsess over FBA status and engage in the online cruelty and hunt for things that justify their hatred of others never ask themselves "are white people delineating? why is Elon Musk, a non FWA allowed to be a near trillionaire? are indians and chinese trying to replace FWAs? why do they allow them to run 3 out of the 5 biggest tech companies? Why is Andy Jassy(an anchor baby to hungarian immigrants) running amazon, a business started by FWA Jeff Bezos? of course they don't ask those kinds of questions because they understand that once a person comes to america, they are white and immediately part of the white brotherhood. The only ones that would be asking that go beyond just conservative or maga, they're straight up neonazis that want to purge even the white jews out of america.
