I have a different upbring from most. I have bible thumping Christians and kuffi wearing muslims in my family. I have hebrew israelists and atheists in my family. I spent have my childhoos in the gutta and the other half in a jewish suburb. My friend group growing up was mostly haitian, fba and Jewish. I spent a bulk of my elementary years in a pro-Black, afro centristic private school before going to the burbs. Most of my suburban childhood classes were asian/african because I was in AP classes. College was the same. I've worked with immigrant labors as a part time job will working full time at a bank with affluent cacs and their typical bro negroes.......

I've unwillingly encountered most types of Black. A small but noticeable amount of them take some sort of pride in being American by way of slavery. I used to blame it on Christianity when I was young but I see it now they way lost nikkas take pride in being from the gutta. Some take pride in the struggle and pride turns into gratefulness.

The original intent of Ados/FBA was necessary and dope, people needed to know and make that distinction so they could make and receive their just due. But lately it seems that things have definitely turned and maybe been infiltrated. And you may think this is in isolation - it's not. Go through any hardcore FBA supporter's social media posts and they are to the right of MAGA. They celebrate when immigrants face repercussions and will literally ignore ANY negative policy facing or even targeting the black community. They will always deflect or pivot to how black immigrants are "cosplaying" them. No depth, no intelligence; just regurgitated ramblings that are almost insane and cult-like.

And there is also no rationalizing with them either. They will defend Trump or anything affecting immigrants regardless of how fascist it is. Look at this guy here. One of the only executives in the NBA gets fired and look at the question being asked. He doesn't care about the nearly 99.99% of the roles occupied by whites. He only cares about that singular role being held by an African. It doesn't even bother him that his role in society and economic power is diminishing daily.



My only hope is that one day these black brothers and sisters don't openly target Africans and Caribbeans at some point. They have already started accusing other black American people of being "tethers" based on their complexion. It literally happens - go check it out online.

Tariq Nasheed must be getting paid heavily to not even care that he has radicalized hundreds (or even thousands) of black people online. It's crazy.

Not overtly, but there is a certain segment of FBA that espouses a level of slavery denialism.

That's the "we aren't African, we're native to America", "we were always here" section of the cult. That's the group that has feather icons in their profile and juxtaposes any black American accomplishment by how much they 'perceive' better they are doing that Africans - unprovoked.

Agreed, checking disrespect is definitely necessary. But starting to see other stuff and just saying its a slippery slope, but I am open to being wrong. Will see how it plays out.

Black Americans today no longer have anyone alive who was a slave so the connection to its horrors have been lost. This has also created a rise in conspiracies about being natives here with no one in their family to check them.

Being born in the US is more advantageous now than being born in a struggling African country with poverty. The people who are thankful for that are not wrong.
