Attacks against Jewish citizens are the most common religiously motivated attacks. Hate crimes against people of the Jewish faith constitute about 60 percent of all religiously motivated hate crimes in the US. Anti-Semitism is promoted and disseminated by right wing extremist groups such as the American Nazi Party, the KKK, the Christian Identity church, and a growing number of leadersin the mainstream conservative Christian community. Anti-Semitism is pushed by right wing conspiracy theorists, who claim a link between the ‘secret society of the Illuminati’ and the Jews. There are conspiracy theories about everything from the Jews and abortion to the Jews and Hollywood, ideas which are peddled by the likes of Alex Jones and Glen Beck. Many of these same groups spread the misinformation about minorities and members of the LGBT community, as well.

literally never seen or heard of a right winger making these claims...

and let me add. this entire article is talking about hate crime stats without mentioning the usual #1 victim. guess who that is?

darn near 50% of all hate crimes are racially motivated.

  • Of the reported 3,407 single-bias hate crime offenses that were racially motivated, 66.4 were motivated by anti-black or African-American bias, and 21.4 percent stemmed from anti-white bias.
  • Law enforcement agencies identified 5,814 known offenders in the 5,928 bias-motivated incidents. Of these offenders, 52.4 percent were white and 24.3 percent were black or African-American

So with the above knowledge. all the OP and the article writer could come up with is that Christians are not subject to that much hate in comparison to jews and muslims in the US.

When a person goes for the lesser stat when one is staring you dead in the face. you already know what this is. Guess who has always ranked #1 on this hate crimes list of MOST HATED? You know who. BLACKS. THe next time someone shows a hate crime article and doesnt mention blacks. I'm neggin you on site. you've been warned

No RepubliCAC but the whole "hate crime" thing is a red herring IMO. The way crimes are determined to be "hate" is super subjective. Not to mention I would say any crime like murder is a hate crime regardless of the races of the people involved. Its divisive BS
its only subjective when its white folks involved with others(especially blacks), or when its blacks involved as the perpetrators or the victims. basically you will have a lot more lawyers, judges going for a hate crime charge when a black person harms a person of another race. vs someone harming black people or white people harming black people or any other race.

Then why are over half the perpetrators of hate crimes white?

Because white people HATE everyone. thats why. an they especially hate black folks, which is why black folks are the #1 victims. all the time.

when i say white people hate. i mean white people are the ones creating hate groups. well now if you create a hate group and/or join up with an official hate group. then you go on a hate spree. of course we have to convict you on a hate crime. that cant be sugar coated to something else.

but when a white person does something hateful to say a black person out of hate and hate alone. if said white person isnt affiliated with a hate group. he/she will probably not be convicted on a hate crime. even though the crime was an actual hate crime. maybe he/she said "all N-words must die" before shooting a black guy.

now flip the tables and let a random brother rob a white person and shoot them, but there are no witnesses. depending on the prosecutor and the judge. that brother can be brought up on hate crime charges.

remember generally speaking white people hate everyone not white, especially black people(the stop and frisk states will show you that, the ferguson stats will show you that.). so we know white people are the prosecutors and judges in most situations, as well as the arresting officers. so when push comes to shove, they will protect their own when they can and throw blacks under the bus..when they can.

so with the stats showing whites being the #1 perps for hate crimes. the numbers are probably not showing all of the times they really did something out of hate, not even close if you ask me.

Christian Chaplain Fired for Preaching Compassion and Love Over Violence of American Sniper
What would Jesus do?
By Zaid Jilani / AlterNet
March 6, 2015

On February 10th, MidAmerica Nazarene University's (MNU) chaplain Randy Beckum gave his morning sermon, which wasn't unusual – it was his job. But what was different that day was the response to the sermon – as one student paper put it, the sermon sparked an “outcry” and a torrent of criticism particularly on social media. The criticism ranged from complaints that Beckum had politicized his sermons to the idea that he had insulted Christians who served in the military.

What was this controversial sermon that Beckum gave? Here's the full text and below you'll find an embedded video of the sermon:

Beckum's sermon that day was about America's addiction to violence, citing the film “American Sniper” as a symptom of that, and how this was problematic for Christianity, a religion founded on the ideals of nonviolence. Here's an excerpt:

As you know two movies came out recently. Selma, the story of one of the 20th century most influential Christian leaders, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who led a non-violent movement that changed the course of American History forever. And American Sniper, the story of the most deadly Navy SEAL sniper in American history. Selma has made 29-30 million so far. American Sniper made over 103 million in the first 4 days. Gives you an idea about who our heroes are. I don’t think it is an under-statement to say that our culture is addicted to violence, guns, war, revenge and retaliation. Unfortunately, so are a lot of Christians.

He went on to say that we have to “be very careful about equating patriotism with Christianity,” and implored his flock to be “controlled by love, compelled by love for everyone.”

Shortly after Beckum's sermon, it was announced that he would no longer be the vice president of the university's Community Foundation. Although the university president claimed Beckum had previously expressed interest in stepping down from that position, his daughter disputes this assertion.

Many in the MNU community are wondering if Beckum was “punished” for his pro-peace sermon, and the timing of his dismissal as VP of the community foundation seems to validate those concerns. “Even the people that were frustrated with what (Beckum) had to say in chapel, or wanted to challenge it, were confused and almost offended by the demotion,” said Kristi Rose Jackson, who was elected to be student body president.

Sadly, it appears that MNU may have given into the furor and decided that a Christian clergyman preaching the peace the founder of the faith stood for is simply too controversial for their campus.
