His argument makes zero sense because the establishment Dems give black people nothing, they only pander via symbolism but won't actually make concreate policies specifically for black people. Obama, Hillary, Biden, Kamala all came with "rising tide" agendas with the argument that explicitly making promises to black people will hurt them politically. That's probably true and if you believe that, which many of the black voters do since they overwhelming voted for those candidates, then how can you be mad at candidates like Bernie for not even bullshytting and playing that game? People like Bernie and Mandini cut right to the chase without all the pandering bullshyt and lay out REAL rising tide policies

This whole argument that black people are justified in voting for objectively WORSE candidates because those candidates pander to us and have name recognition is just wild to me. That's the definition of a low information voter, which he tries to flip into a critique of "white progressives" for observing and stating the obvious

This is why i felt he should've done a full video instead on his main channel. Cause he could've went more in depth

Usually the best sides be more so movies or entertainers so I don't get why he chose this route unless to preview some points he'll revisit in a full vid :manny:
His B sides videos are the cop out vids. A lot of it is topics he really wants to speak on but just enough to say he spoke on it

For example he has a B Sides about the abuse of black boys but only says just enough to absolve black women, and then eventually end up at blaming black men anyway:mjlol:

I agree with FD on a number of issues but not with this. And it's not just him but I noticed online black progressive YouTubers shared similar thoughts.
I never let white Bernie Bros change my views on Bernie because that doesn't change his politics

I'm really thinking about helping these folks out instead of bytching on the internet.

They are legit about trying to help people run for local seats.

Older black voters fukked up in 2016 and 2020 primaries.

There is no way around that.

Same way white voters in fukk up every election.

It is what it is.
Yup. They only argument they had was what CNN and MSNBC told them which was they [Hilary and Biden] can talk across the aisle and were pragmatic :snoop: Policies be damned

Its cuz his audience is majority non-Black :mjlol: :russ:

Ain't no way with his videos lol

Interesting. I know he's not really watched by Mod Dems or Neo Libs, but Tankies? :patrice:

A little speculation on my part but the white YouTubers I've seen him collab with refer to themselves as communists or leftist.

I could be wrong but I think FD refers to himself as a leftist

It’s high time we stopped coddling voters. If you’re whit and middle class or poor and voted for Trump you need to be called out. If you’re black and you voted for Hillary and Biden over Bernie, you need to be called out.

Because Bernie lost…. Did you forget that part? :mjlol:

Like the objective shouldn't be to forge a this cult icon status and then feel satisfied that you're a bumper sticker for dissatisfied ...that literally does nothing .…it should be about actually consolidating power to impact legislation.…. If you want to win NATIONALLY not just local races as a democract you better recognize that you need to win on a platform that includes folding in more traditional legacy black voters…. What he is saying is that you'll need to learn how to talk to this people and not at them if you're a leftist interested in mobilizing that block

That wasn't his argument :gucci:it was the literal opposite

Some of these replies in this thread cant be deriving from someone who actually watched the video

You in San Antonio? I’m from there but live in Massachusetts now.

As for this video he is right about leftist messaging being bad for older black Americans. Even for myself I voted for Bernie but knew he didn’t have the stuff to reach black people. The need to start by acknowledging racism and its foundation in this country and how nothing that happens no matter how altruistic is immune from it. Can’t say now everything will be fair after you are already winning the race.

To a degree yes, but in 2016 Bernie didn't take his candidacy seriously as it was more of a messaging campaign. Hell he only ran because Elizabeth Warren didn't run that year. In 2020 I think he just gave up on getting the black vote and went full on latino so I'm sure many older black folks felt he wasn't offering anything and stuck with ol' Biden. Not saying they were right in there assessment but I can't blame them entirely given the circumstances.
