The average American couldn't even tell you what a trans fat is and what the healthier option would be. You'd have a point if everyone was as informed but they aren't. It amounts to the ignorant slowly killing themselves.

at all the libertards acting like this is some huge deathblow to the marketplace. I guess I'm the only one that cooks or reads here because the only people really losing here are fast food conglomerates skimping on oil and pastry chefs pretty much (and they can use other oils to make up for shortening). Me and brehs like @Serious known that margarine is poison

What freedoms are being taken away? You sound like an extreme conservative. These things are bad for you, and is contributing to the extremely high cases of heart disease and arterial disease in this country. Clearly people need help helping themselves. But we don't, more people get sick, more people (overwhelmingly the poor and minorities) drive up healthcare costs because they can't pay, putting more stress on the ecenomy. But you don't want healthcare reform either...Can the government do anything to alleviate the ills we face today??
