I’m a contractor and the email I saw they’re still waiting on OPM advisement.
Back at work in person starting Monday. No hybrid. Even though I did the same job from home 32 months straight.
My girl is stressing which is stressing me. No date for 5 days yet but it’s coming.

I go from being ok to being scared as fukk, mostly being ok. I learned years ago not to stress over things I can't control. If I'm going to get fired theres nothing I can do about it
As of right now I don't know any friends or family who've been fired. That's keeping my spirits up
I'm more concerned for my coworker who is fresh in the government. Her probationary period ends the first week of April. I hope she makes it

Just imagine u have a business in a downtown area which has a ton of federal employees working in the area,, they loss of job will effect you’re foot traffic in your business. Which means u have to cut staff increase prices to try to keep your business afloat

Y'all that coworker I just mentioned just called me to tell me she was terminated. I knew this was going to happen but tried to remain hopeful, calm and reassuring for her
This broke my heart. She moved to DC from Dallas last year for the job. She's very bright, hardworking and a sweetheart
The only semblance of a bright spot is she was still living with her family she has here and doesn't have any major bills

They've been more than helpful in there but there are some "My hairs on fire, this is the apocalypse" types in there that I think are just agent provocateurs in there. My officemates have called me twice this morning asking if I'm ok and I'm like, "do these nikkas know something I don't?" The entire front office crew (to include two SES's that were on probationary status) got fired in the last 24 hrs.
