I’m from Brooklyn a place where stars are born.
This country cannot survive with 30% unemployment. Literal blood in the streets. It would literally be 3rd world status. The homelessness rate would skyrocket. The crime wave that would occur from this would make the crack era look like a walk in the park. The political and geopolitical ramifications would be felt for the remainder of the 21st century. Not to mention black America would be devastated.

Reach out to your reps, people. The Senate version of the emergency stimulus package that failed a procedural vote yesterday only offered a one-time $1200 check to Americans. Now the House version is being worked on. Call/email your House rep. Reach out to them on Twitter and Facebook. Reach out to their staff as well, like their director of communications and chief of staff. Pull out all the stops.
So far, I've reached out to my rep, Michael McCaul (TX-10), and his comms director using the above methods. I've told him to support proposals that call for every adult to receive, minimum, $2k per month and every child, minimum, $500 per month. As well as freezes on mortgage/rent/car note/student loans/utility payments that won't build up in payments over the months, creating an insurmountable amount of debt that would likely be impossible to pay off.

Actual economist don’t think it’ll be 30%. A lot of it depends on how long it takes to contain the virus. It all depends on testing because without it we don’t know if the virus is contained or not. The US numbers are not bad the coronavirus hasn’t infected or caused more deaths than the seasonal flu yet 
. But when we have an adequate amount of testing and a lot least a month has passed we will get a clearers picture.
But the govt has to do its job. At least 1.5 trillion needs to be injected into the economy. Yes the big business and small businesses would need bailouts as well as a stimulus for the population.
