It was about me needing time off that finally made me quit my food service job back in the day and start trade school.
It was 2013 and my god daughters birthday was coming up and I requested the day of her birthday off MONTHS in advance. Kept reminding my supervisors and they all said 'Yeah we'll find somebody else for that day'. I had never took a day off work or missed work, or was even late.
The week comes and I'm on the schedule for that day. I go to ask my manager about it and he says 'Well we couldn't find anyone to cover those hours so we are gonna need you to come in and as soon as we can make cuts off the line you'll be the first to leave.' I told that cracker I wasn't coming in and he said if you don't come there will be repercussions. The day comes and I don't come in, I go to work the next day and they tried to write up for a no call no show, I told that peckerwood to shove that write up, up his ass and walked out and quit.
Yeah I wemt without a job for a month or two, but I'll be damned. Food service has to be the WOAT jobs as far as how the employers treat the employees. Treat you like an 8th gradernd try to force you to put the job before your personal life, all the while you are vastly overworked and underpaid. I kept my name tag and all that shyt still have it sitting on the wall as a reminder of what I never want to go back to, a menial degrading ass job.
