cancer :merchant:

i already got high blood pressure/hypertension, but cancer is some other monster :snoop:

I'm slim, but my blood pressure was getting high because I was becoming more sedentary. I do cardio for around 45 minutes every other day and that's has helped significantly, and it's only been two months since I've been doing this. I check my bp twice a day and now it's usually between 117-125 over 75-85. I feel like I still may have to eventually get on bp medication when I get older, but I don't want to have to be on it now.

Developing some sort of cancer. :scusthov: No matter how good I eat or healthy I am, that shyt don't give a fukk.
Yes sir I’m almost 35 and doctors keep saying “oh you’re still young, you don’t need to get checked for cancer til you’re 42 or 43.”

:ld:

And each time I hear something of the sort, I’m like “fukk THAT!”

I’m 41 and I’ll keep it real with you brehs. I have the same fears you do.

Things like cancer, health issues, not being as agile as you age, etc cross my mind time to time but I keep it truckin.

I’ve been blessed with good metabolism, good health, a solid hairline and head of hair and most people mistake me for a 30-something. My child (15) is healthy and thriving so I just try to embrace the good in life and not dwell on the what ifs of what may go wrong

It's hit or miss honestly. Some of my family members have it, some don't. I may be the unlucky one. It happens enough to where I need to be aware of it though.
I can digg it… yeah doing cardio, laying off the salt and tapering your drinking and smoking will definitely help.

I'm 41 turn 42 in November. Honestly this has been the best time of my life. I always get told I look like my sons brother as opposed to his dad(hes 17). The age range I usually get is 28-30. As long as you do the leg work in your 20's -30's it's wonderful. Got remarried last year to a amazing woman, beautiful kids(18 bonus, 17, 6) opportunities falling in place seamlessly. If I was told 10yrs ago it would be like this for me, I would've laughed in your face in disbelief. Only real downside is how much you REALLY come face to face with mortality because those from the generation before yours start fading out. The flip side is I've become exceptionally invested in appreciating everyday.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
As one of the more vocal people with his personal problems here and not shy to say what he done feels (and turning 40 in two long weeks, lol)...

I got some heat for this thread after work.

Trill speak... I'll give you younger millennial cats perspective/insight none of the other breighs have expressed yet.

I'll delve into key topics like trauma, drawbacks of success and legacy avoidance... and how to create a strong aura for yourself to keep folks enamored with you/people pleasing while still being able to do you.

And most importantly, how to live a minimal/stress free existence.

Listen to the OG's. We we may be flabby, but we're swaggy and got many stories to tell. No prank tells.

*turns on bed nitelight, puts on glasses and opens book*

You ready B?

Let's go get 'em...

Someone mentioned seeing their family members get older/die. I think that's the primary one for me. 3/4 grandparents are still alive in their 80s, 90s and for the first time in a while, I can look at my parents and see them actually look like "senior citizens" as they approach 70. They still have their health, no serious issues, go out, can move around and all, but still -- I see people that most would consider old now when I look at their faces. At 36, I don't have children yet, so I wonder if all of the people mentioned will be able to have a relationship with them when I do so.

Death, man.. my best friend of 30 years died last year. That was the first time in my life where someone I truly and deeply cared about died and it wrecked me physically and emotionally for a year straight. The thought that as i approach 40, more and more people will start dropping like flies is terrifying. I know that my 40's are gonna be the decade of me gaining so much financially and relationship wise with my fiance, but I also know that that'll be a dark decade when it comes to others I love.

I don't worry about myself too much. I've never ever been flabby and sick and I'm way too resourceful and creative to be poor or have a soul draining job.
