This is my situation. I have maybe $70K in retirement accounts, but savings

shyt, I owe more inc redit cards that I have in savings at this point.
Yeah, its ass backwards, but I aint gonna liquidate no long term shyt to pay off a credit card balance that will only balloon up in a couple months anyway.

Nope, like 5k in Roth, 20k in 401k (gotta make sure the company's match is maxed)...I got a jaded view of retirement accounts seeing people close to me die young.

currently i have a little over 7k..usually i have in between 8k and 12k..i took a hit paying 4G's for my chiro treatments, paying for a trip to a wedding, plus other bills, mother and father's day, etc etc...june/july/august its damn near impossible for me to save..i got a 3yr anniversary with the gf next month i have to plan and spend..doesn't stop in the summertime

I always have a certain amount in savings for a rainy day.
About 3 years ago, plumbing work cost 8K. I had a leaky pipe coming from the water meter. Since it was between the house and the water meter, I was responsible for the repair. Totally sucked.

Man bruh if you got IT certs and don't mind not having a social life, try get into overseas government contracting and do a year or two. Literally don't have any expenses, plus it's completely tax-free for the first $91,000 or some shyt like that.

I technically should have a little bit more saved than what I do, but shyttttt YOLO

Im in IT but I have no interest in it...in my field I can make upwards of 80K if I was to use the work experience I gained and move on (a lot of people from my job moved to other companies) but I really hate this shyt. Even if I got paid more, I would be status...

I need to invest in myself and be my own man...

I make <40k and have 12k saved up. It's just a matter of spending less than you make.
