She may not have had a close relationship with God then, if she did, then when seeking discernment over the things and people in her life that shouldn't be in her life, God would've told her about you, and she would obeyed and listened, knowing God always knows what is best for her. Either she didn't listen, doesn't have a close relationship with God(and therefore can't talk to him openly or listen when he speaks to her).
She might have also been struggling with lust, I mean Christians still sin. Even when I was closest with God and deep in my faith, lust was an affliction of mine, I had to pray on it daily, and still it was there... It's hard to explain, but it's something you work through, and usually the best thing to do is keep temptations(things that will cause you to get off track) out of your life.

It’s crazy how many times in the gospels Jesus explicitly denounces people that “wear long robes, and speak long prayers in the market place for money” throughout the gospels... then 2000 years later and basically every late night religious preacher is “devouring” widows houses by having them send in all their social security checks, and nobody calls them out for being hypocrites.

OP you might be on to something . I remember casually dating this one chick and I cancelled our date to go out with another girl. She had asked me why did I cancel and I told her my grandma wanted me to go to revival night with her and I also told the girl I prayed for her because i knew she was stressed out from her job and school (I had to sell my lie). That weekend she came over and without asking cooked the whole weekend, cleaned my apartment, and bought me some shoes.

if you don't mind me asking, what do you mean by she's at a place spiritually that you'll never be at?
I think that we all need guidance and whatever belief that you have it should provide some moral threshold and guidelines/rules to live by.
But I can't see being the devout go to church every sunday, from dusk to dawn- taking part in all those rituals etc, bc far too many times I have been witness to
hypocrisy and doublespeak in the church. I read the bible and pray but I'm not into the public spectacle at all or doing things for show. Some of the most self-centered, manipulative
people that I've come across were from church. It's almost like they hide behind Christianity, as if it gives them license to judge and be above reproach.
I can't see enforcing my beliefs and practices on someone else either, as long as their is a basic understanding and morality.
