I won’t make that assumption of him being scared. Could’ve just been absent mindedness. Or that he just doesn’t know how he should walk with his girl. The last thing you should be doing is fighting a group, you don't know if they have weapons/guns on them.
Getting your woman to safety is the first priority because if they do have weapons (likely), you are getting killed (you are not going to see what everyone is doing) and your girl has a high chance of getting killed as well.

Why everyone on this board assume everyone got a gun?
I'm not saying everyone doesn't have a gun i'm just saying it depends where they at.
If this happened in Maryland for example probably nobody was packing.
