yea i don't believe that he was beating her for 30 minutes. I don't even think a dude could deliver a beating that long before getting tired and stopping. Not only that, but they gave absolutely no background on what happened prior to the beating. Sounds like typical reporting that only gives partial information mixed in with misinformation to perpetuate a perspective

Not gonna make harsh judgement either way but part of the reason this happens openly is because the perpetrators know the other men in the area will be scared or apathetic about intervening. If we had a real community mentality where everybody felt a duty to protect everybody, these things would happen less. If the nikka is crazy enough to beat her in public like that, that means that's not the first time he beat her and she's known for a minute that he's crazy and she stayed with him anyway.
There is a very real possibility that is you take him down that she will fight you.
If he's crazy enough to do this, he may be crazy enough to kill you if you intervene.
