Broner was undefeated champion and had hype behind him that's the significant
thurman doesn't have a win like that, plus Maidana already been in there with out top name fighters

Floyd looked ok, I can see the Fall off....shots he never got hit with before are now landing, but that comes with the territory of getting older
My biggest gripe was the last round and how he closed out the fight, If you gonna start calling yourself TBE you gotta put ya stamp on the last couple of fights he has left, and for him to basically close out the fight running that left me disappointed

No matter if AB should be at 147 or not, he was undefeated, the WBA Welterweight Champion, was ranked #6 Pound 4 Pound by RING Magazine...it was a great win for Marcos Maidana and no, Keith Thurman does not have one of those type of victories. Nowhere near that type of victory on his resume.
The best fighter Thurman has beat to this point is Diego Chaves

watching it live I felt he was just trolling...but now I feel floyd just didn't wanna take any chances at all. he probably felt maidana would come out swinging for the fences all 3 minutes and he didn't wanna fukk around and get caught with something wild. no matter what he says he knows damn well maidana is the hardest puncher he's fought. dude can even hurt you with grazing punches. at that point floyd had already taken some good lumps...prolly didn't wanna give maidana an opportunity to land a lucky shot. can't really hate on that though. much bigger money fights out there waiting for him to get it all taken away in the 12th round of a fight he pretty much swept.

He won all 1 out of 1 of his fights at WW like a true champeen. AB was so proven... And somehow managed to get strap from the great Pillowfisted Pauli winning7-5....The hype and build up behind that fight was so great, the first nikka to beat AB, Maidana, automatically should've been cemented as first in line to fight Floyd.. making him #2 ww in the world without fighting any other top welters

You're talking in hindsight....and hindsight doesnt matter at all. It was a GREAT victory for Marcos Maidana and the win propelled him into a fight with the #1 Pound For Pound fighter in the world.
This is what I don't get!! It's likeHe'll retire undefeated, come back for that 50th and lose. I just don't know what people expect from a 37 year old BOXER fighting guys much younger than him and still winning at ease (sans the first Maidana fight). Guys making a big deal of a 18 year veteran slowing down?

Hindsight never matters after agendas all fall into place.. How does AB get a shot at the WBA championship without ever fighting at 140 or 147 anyway?? Only reason AB was ranked #6 was because politics allowed him to side step all the other WWs that were ahead of him... that would've easily taken that strap from Pauli.. He was 5-1 over Maidana because people are stupid
AB wasn't even gonna ever fight Floyd.. He was just a place holder for the next fighter they wanted Floyd to face, which was Maidan... who btw didn't even win the poll Broner put up.... Not AB fault though, he's just a pawn

Because his habits haven't written a check that his talent couldn't cash. I can understand it though. Basically, taking things for granted. I was a procrastinator in college. Literally wait till the last minute to knock out a 10 page paper because until you could prove me wrong, I know that me, Mountain Dew and Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood were guaranteed to get an A. He'd have to lose to change his ways.
Happens all the time (fighters jumping from 1 division to another and fighting for the title in their 1st fight there). Floyd did it with Zab Judah, Cotto just did it with Sergio, etc...unless you mean jumping up 2 divisions from 135 to 147 to win the belt. That's only reserved for the All-Time Legends......Henry Armstrong and Adrien Broner

Are you on record in here saying Maidana was gonna beat Broner? Nobody but @Mook and another poster was riding with Maidana in that fight that I remember, and they were severely out numbered by people thinking Broner would win

The winner was Lucas Matthysse. Marcos Maidana finished with the 2nd most votes. Danny Garcia finished with the 3rd most votes. Keith Thurman, Robert Guerrero, Kell Brook, Andre Berto, Jesus Soto-Karass, and Diego Chaves all finished tied with less than 10% of the votes. Lucas Matthysse and Danny Garcia were already scheduled to fight on Floyd's undercard, plus they were at 140 and Broner was at 147, which meant Marcos Maidana was the winner.
Marcos Maidana was also Paulie Malignaggi's mandatory defense for the WBA Championship, and when Paulie side stepped him for Adrien Broner, Marcos Maidana was ALSO named the automatic first defense for whoever won the belt between Broner and Paulie. Broner won, Maidana finished 2nd in votes plus was the mandatory to keep the belt....made perfect sense and was the perfect storm.
