Fellow future Xbox One owners how will you buy your games?

so they've stated the system will support 100% offline with no connectivity required. I don't know what else you want them to say.

easy they can say no to DRM on the console period and require any PS4 game boot off a disc and be fully playable offline if its gameplay doesn't require internet just as it is now on the PS3 but they clearly haven't said that.

if all the major publishers code their software to require internet than what's the major difference? perhaps first party games from Sony and some of the smaller publishers won't but the majority of the high profile top selling titles are likely gonna have DRM on them that Sony could block if they wanted.

i really wish yall would quit acting like you don't know what's going on and quit acting like Sony is taking some type of stand for gamers when Sony wants to save face.

MS mandating an online checkin to play games period vs Sony having a total offline function that doesn't require you to check in to play is night and day. IF the big publishers want to mandate an online checkin on the PS4, let them take the heat as they should.

That and bandwidth caps from your ISP. I also like to flip my games on Ebay, but unfortunately that is out with the XB1.

forgot about the caps...but in all fairness I only plan on buying like 2 games a month at the most. I get like 120 gigs with my isp.

no i'm just not naive enough to think that one side is gonna have all this DRM and the other side is gonna be open season. i don't want any of them to have DRM. i think DRM is stupid and only harasses paying customers because pirates typically crack and defeat it.

if i'm standing on my porch with my rifle and i'm your next door neighbor and a stranger breaks into your house as a watch it happen what difference does it matter who takes the heat from your perspective? they did it and i let them and either one of us could have prevented it from happening. they didn't have to do it and i didn't have to let them.

all PS4s have hard drives. Publisher X has their own DRM software that installs on your PS4 and does the online check before booting the game. when the game disc boot it immediately goes into a DRM check instead of booting to the title screen.

A firmware update built into the disc isn't the same as an online connection in order to play. So a check when you boot the disc/install the game on the PS4 hard drive is nothing. After that is done you can play. Fine. If they require an online check (installed when you install the game), again, that's on the publisher, not Sony.

so you'd rather have an online check everytime you play a game. Instead every 24 hours. Just so you can say "sony left it up to the developers"
