And using the disc to authenticate removes the benefits of not needing a disc. Things like instantly switching between games, storing games in the cloud, ect.

:mindblown:

No it doesn't

You can't be this hardheaded...a simple check for the disc in the drive and then playing it off the hard drive is not removing the benefits of not needing a disc

Because you do have the ability to install a PS4 game to the harddrive to play, what's stopping me from copping and giving me friends all a copy of the same game to install to their PS4s. HAVING THE DISC IN THE DRIVE TO PLAY! Again, no offline required, but you can still play it.

:comeon: how can you instantly switch games if you need a different disc for each one?

What's the point of storing games in the cloud, if you still need to keep the disc?

Timeout. We aren't talking about the same shyt.

I'm talking about something totally different what you are.

I'm talking about the assumption that you'd be able to freely copy a single PS4 disc game to multiple systems.

I dunno what you are talking about.

If you're talking about accessing your games from the cloud, that is totally different. You should be able to switch on the fly since they already have the game stored on the cloud servers as long as your are online.

:snoop:

I'm talking about storing all your games on a hardrive and being able to instantly access them like steam or an iphone.

Either way the argument is stupid...once i buy a disc the shyt is mine....doesn't matter if i give it to my homie or his dad or my cousin...its my shyt. The whole concept of NOT allowing people to share the shyt THEY PAID FOR is dumb...

I said this in another topic...

"Imagine if you bought a car and only 2 people could drive it and other people had to pay the manufacturer a fee to use it, and it has to check in to your wi-fi every 24 hours to drive....you would NEVER buy something like that."

Its over for the Xbox i never seen a company one itsself so quickly...

You pay for the software not the delivery method understand? You didn't create the software so you don't own it and as such if the people that created it determine the terms it can be used under. In the old days the software was delivered to you using methods the publisher couldn't control what you did with their software but if you look in the box there's typically a white sheet of paper that hammers out the terms of use of their software.

I'm not saying its right but you're paying to use the software. You don't own it. back in the day if you bought a copy of Windows 95 you could throw it on 20 Computers. burn a copy and give it to a cousin and they could do the same. that shyt wasn't part of the EULA for that OS. that one copy of Windows was for one PC but because the internet wasn't prevalent they had no means of determining and enforcing that but when they could they did and now you have to authenticate it online. i mean there's hacks to get around it to an extent but still.

you know what sucks about today's news? if you buy the physical game and install it disc has to be in the tray to play. i was looking forward to going to a store and being able to buy a disc but play any game from the hard drive without disc when i wanted to.
