There's a reason why she asked him to open the door as opposed to just forcing her way in. I think she knew what she could and couldn't do. She was even there with her sergeant so if she was messing up somehow, I'm sure he would have stepped in.

She made it clear that they weren't going to go inside. She did warn him that he could get locked up before cuffing him, and he still stood there like . Even though it's a bullshyt reason to arrest someone, that doesn't necessarily mean it's not legal (I see a lot of the video comments suggesting that).

Chances are, they know their actions are covered by the law somehow, especially since they're doing it on camera. I'm pretty sure they know that law in their area better than the resident coli lawyers . Not really much room to successfully sue.


And of course, like already mentioned...........the whole thing could just be staged

Its as simple as this...here in OH, theres kinda a small loophole...u dont let them try to sneak an inch of themselves in that door. A trick theyll often pull is sliding a foot in while talking to you, cuz once they do that, legally here uve indavertently given them the right to enter your premesis. You also cant just shut the door in their face cuz then they can get probable cause to force entry, especiallly if its a disturbance call. The owner or a resident simply has to step outside and close the door behind them, then ask em why their there, if youre being charged, if they ask to enter, refuse, then tell em if you arent being charged nor detained that you are simply going to go about ur business and tell em to have a nice day.
