I'm not even from the Chi and even I know the whole northside ain't sweet. Lakeview been kinda turned up this summer. Rogers Park got some wild areas. And Uptown has always had some turned up blocks. Those hipsters think shyt is sweet but north of Broadway & Montrose you need to watch your ass. It aint the southside but it isnt peaches and cream either.
Was just up there this past wknd. Walking out the Target on Broadway down to Jakes to grab a hot dog and I probably passed 20 homeless people in just those few blocks. They all J's and you don't see them but you know someone is serving them somewhere close by.
