in attachment theory its known that children who see their caregiver playing with other children will actually climb up into their laps and try to remove the other child to recapture the affirmation of the caregiver.

women in relationships do this too - they get re-excited when they see you attending to important matters or socializing with important or interesting people. they try to win you back for themselves to have exclusively.

what im saying is this: if you dont have things going on your life to make whoever is attached to you want to try to recapture or re-win their affirmation of you, you will always end up with these kinds of problems where you have to talk down or punish them when they inevitably respond with dissatisfaction with you instead of respect. women want to respect you but respect is earned you cant just say something clever or intimidating to get it from them. respect from that is just temporary, and youre going to re experience these same problems over and over again
