Why can't a black person be the face of domestic violence for a period of time? That was the wrong place to talk about those things is all I'm saying. Context is very important and the context of whatever you were saying inadvertently excused Ray Rice from what he did. It's like if I made a thread about how Women in the 21st Century are quicker to snitch on their man than in years past. I would be belittling what happened, regardless if I said "don't get me wrong, what he did was terrible. BUT".
Because for us it's never "a period of time". It always sticks. Black men can't even wear hoodies without being treated like thugs. Why? Because we are the face of the word "thug". If we had the same "lone wolf theory" applied to us that white people enjoy, the theory that allows white men to shoot up movie theaters and supermarkets, without the average white man walking in public being treating as if he's guilty before there was any sign of a crime, then I'd have no problem. But it's never that with us. It's never that one of us just fukked up, it's always that we, as a people, are thugs, thieves, and abusers. That's why I posted what I did. There's no way I inadvertently excused Ray Rice from his actions. When I repeatedly posted throughout that thread, that he was wrong and that he deserves to be punished.
Secondly, if you don't care what people on the internet think about your opinions, why would you post your opinions on the internet?
Maybe I should clarify, I don't care about what people on a forum think about my opinions. I post them, just for conversation, debate and to enlighten. I don't get off the Coli, thinking, "Man, I really hurt my image today" or worrying about anyone who disagreed with me. If it's an article, and my name is attached to it, then I care about the opinions of my readers. I care if they took issue with something I said, because I want them to enjoy my work. Otherwise, it's no big deal. People can feel how they want to feel on the Coli. If I post here, I'll say what I feel, anyone who doesn't like it, doesn't have to. I'll offer them a rebuttal, to try to get them to understand my view. But at the end of the day, people can feel how they feel.
