is there really any reason that y'all can think of for police departments to be as overly militarized as they are other than for situations like this? this seems like a complete institutional problem.

i guess there's terrorism which we saw with boston a couple years back, but killing a black kid on "accident" and then needing to bring out the riot gear seems a lot more common in America than a potential terrorist attack. almost feels like a self fulfilling prophecy.

They have to be PC. St. Louis is notoriously known for shutting down "black stations" for speaking against or calling out things. Although, I do hope that they do know that all that black on black crime bullshyt stems from white supremacy. I hope they do.

I agree, so what if the area has a high crime rate (which apparently this area didn't even have), if the dude was posing no threats than he is fully entitled to his rights and shouldn't be gunned down like an animal like the punk ass coward with a badge did to him.
