This news of looting hurts me y'all....

No self control. No sense of thought for THEIR OWN PEOPLE. Just completely selfish opportunist pulling smash-and-grab horseshyt like some fukking Mad Max bandits. fukking PATHETIC. All because some people didn't have even a modicum of conviction. Some people didn't have the fukking willpower to hold off and selfish behavior for just a couples of weeks.
fukk around and this whole thing is going to be for nothing. After the store video, and now looting AFTER the police pulled back and gave the reigns to a black police officer who was actually marching with the protesters.....c'mon now.
For anyone saying "fukk the stores, fukk the store owners", I FEEL THE SAME WAY. This isn't upsetting because I think that "whites were with us, but now they hate us again oh no". These white people haven't changed and they never will. I recognize that no looter, rioter, thief, shoplifter, mugger or burglar will ever be more greedy than the average white American unwilling to give up their entrenched privilege (And I don't even need to go in on the bankers, politicians, and the wealth class in general). But I also recognize that even if whites are going to hate us regardless, even if the police department released the store video to instigate a reaction, and even if they were popping off tear gas to agitate us.....we still have to be fukking TACTICAL. They set us up for this. But I'm mad as hell that some of us, even if only a small minority, fell for the bait.
Narrative matters. The messaging matters. As the above video states, propaganda matters. And even if we don't own the media outlets, we can still use them to our advantage. If ANYTHING, all these looters are doing *right now* is taking focus away from the fukking cop. And the fact that no autopsy has been released. And the fact that they allowed the murderer to flee...etc etc etc. Instead, we've got our people on tv trying to defend looting.
We weren't going to win the war here. But we had the opportunity to win a battle. It's a war of attrition. EVEN IF those rioting had some sense of political motivation....we aren't about to overthrow American capitalism over a fukking weekend. Let's not kid ourselves. That shyt didn't amount to anything except for some idiots getting some free shyt.
Watching Melissa Harris Perry right now and god bless her she is doing and saying everything she can to articulate some powerful arguments in our favor. But it's unfortunate that she has to do all this plea copping because some grimey selfish cats didn't understand how to be tactical.
Looting does have a messaging component. It emphasizes the issue of poverty....people are so poor, so lacking in aspirations, nothing to lose...they are willing to resort to the most basic form of thievery *JUST* to get something for free. But that's a lot of capital to spend (no pun intended) just to get that point across.
