Good shyt. I was looking up Black Wall Street and Tulsa riots the other day. shyt got me motivated. I'm going to spread the word both in LA and in the city I grew up in on the east coast. I am pretty cautious about the cornballs. Not trying to hear no "we are the world" ass conversations that keep us waiting for someone to come save us or magically like us one day.
not to butt into your convo, but i recently started growing alot of my own food & herbs.. should keep that in mind as your building with folks..

buy up some land, and grow and sell to Black-owned supermarkets, restaurants, etc..

sad, man. we need our own grocery stores.

i go to the mexican market, they're selling tons of mexican owned products. i go to the korean grocery store, they're selling nothing but korean owned products. go to the kosher spot, nothing but jewish owned products.

we're the only group that hasn't networked like this. black owned grocery stores are essential

Absolutely. We can be as revolutionary as we want, but everything starts with being able to care for basic needs. I see black areas like Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw have farmer's markets. Maybe there are some groceries stores that I'm missing. Or maybe a dialogue can be had. There's no reason we should't have grocery stores or at least a food co-op.

I know that, but it doesn't mean that using those resources is economically better to use them instead of getting them from another country cheaper.

I'm looking at a broader picture but buying from Black-owned businesses is a start...regardless of where the goods come from.

Africans need to build factories in Africa, regardless of what Diasporans do, though we should help.

:patrice: It's funny how this event changes people's perspective, that thread I made on black owned businesses had people in there sayin it was a dumb idea now people are all in. Now we need our entire community to realize we need our own economy and businesses in our communities.
